We're such a hard team to understand. It just doesn't seem to have much logic around it. I'd feel a whole lot better if I thought there was any chance of us somehow beginning to address our issues over the summer, but without an ownership change, I just don't see it.
If Lemina can’t force his way into that team, he should hang up his boots. Several Championship clubs will be getting a phone call soon from Saints. Can we swap a crap Premier league player for one with more ability, pretty please?
I think it is worth mentioning that our attack with 47 goals for is mid-table whereas our defence is the issue due to the number of goals conceded. We need another option at fullbacks and another midfielder who is a ball winner.
yeah, we asked them to build the stadium, it was nothing to do with Seb Coe at all, and everyone was queuing up to buy or rent it. You should ****ing thank us, something is better than nothing.
On the contrary, I'm starting to hope that there's a fairly good chance of me getting my wish. If I do and then the Championship introduces VAR from 22/23 then I might have to lob myself off the bridge.
Congrats on this season Ern, Moyes deserves a hell of a lot of credit and is looking more like the manager he was at Everton. Fingers crossed you don't draw Astra!
Whatever floats your boat mate. I personally get far more embarrassed of seeing our fans act like entitled and toxic customers than any 9-0 loss.
I agree mate. These arenas are white elephants after the Lord Mayors parade. If we had been given the same deal, we’d have jumped at it. It stinks but that’s how governments work.
cheers mate, I did come on to praise your first 20 minutes, was a far better game than I thught it would be and you looked far more up for it than we did until the goal. Had a feeling he'd be a good fit for us and would repair his reputation this season, not sure about next though, a squad our size in Europe is going to wear it thin quite quickly.
Kind of summed up our season really. Both in the sense that: 1. We were decent in possession and going forward first half. Absolutely awful second half. 2. Both ends of the pitch are to blame.
Really not surprised by any of this. This was always the likely result and performance today. We just needed this season over with. As others have said, this really feels like a make or break summer for us (again) and yet one with very little expecatation or hope for those changes. We all know nothing will change under this ownership. Kinda glad for the Euros (Until Southgate selects 9 defensive players in his starting line ups) and not having to think about Saints for a while. In a depressing year, Saints have just been heaping on the gloom week in week out for the past 5 months and it's been pretty exhausting tbh. So glad to say **** you and good riddance to this season and just not think about Saints for a while. Footballs coming home?
Problem is in order to supply that attack to the tune of mid table level goals we need to completely abandon any notion of defence. If we deploy a more defensive formation our midfielders and forwards aren’t capable of creating in a structured set up. We almost have to choose between being 20th for attack or 20th for defence and that is with one of the best PL strikers in our squad. There just isn’t enough quality throughout the squad.
Errm... if it’s alright with you, I’ll thank you for nothing... corruption and corporate greed in government and the game I love isn’t a look I’ll thank anyone for....
In fairness, I think our players get a pretty easy ride from Saints fans. In most other PL clubs pitchforks would have been out some time ago. We must be pretty much the worst value for money home club in English League football, ticket prices against results over the last 4-5 years. I know that’s not why we are here, but the players really don’t get to use fan hostility as an excuse, even though we have our share of idiots about (which every club does).
