Bit of a **** weekend so far ... middle girl was having chest pains on Friday ... doing her finals at Cardiff Uni and had been worked up for last week or so as different deadlines being worked too ... anyway she called 111 having spoken to her mum and they advised her to go to A&E at Cardiff University Hospital and have an ECG. She arrived at 6pm on Friday evening and was there for 19 hours having ECG X-ray blood and urine and waiting to have a CT scan. She was getting more and more distressed even though they told us on the phone that most of what they were doing was precautionary ... but the ECG and blood samples did show some abnormalities. At 2am I set off for Cardiff and got there at 5am - they wouldn't let me go in and be with her due to Covid constraints but she was allowed out to chat to me through the wire fencing at the entrance ... anyway I sat in the car in the carpark opposite the entrance to A&E until they eventually discharged her (just after 1pm) after 2nd ECG and blood and urine tests. She had injections of an anti-coagulent directly into her stomach and has been given more to do herself next 2 days before she goes back on Monday - turns out the guy who does the VT scans is not there over the weekend. The injections are precautionary against a possible pulmonary embolism coz they found higher then normal levels of D-dimer in her blood. This would accelerate the break up of a clot. Anyway brought her back home with me and she looks fine and is a lot happier in herself with the family. Driving her back on Monday morning. All very worrying, of course, but hopefully turns out to be nothing serious. The thing is, if I hadn't gone down she would have spent 19 hours without any food or drink (other than water) - ended up going to Maccy D's as soon as it opened and bringing her a breakfast roll and a coffee. They are ultra strict because of Covid and you are just stuck with the situation until they get discharged from A&E ... nobody is allowed to be with them. She's only 21 ffs and was scared silly by it all. Anyway she's home now and we all got a good night's sleep - back to some normality today - youngest has got a mock ballet exam this lunchtime. Can do without this kind of malarkey at my age!!!
Nope not reading that. Hope it was good tho. My old man's 2nd birfdee today, gonna go find a card in a bit before he comes round for the game at 4, then he's off to have dinner with my sister and brother but I'm not allowed cos she don't talk to me anymore
Been out for a Roastie at a nice foody pub. Tempura prawns and monkfish starter. Roast beef, Yorkie and all the trimmings, lashings of horseradish. Then a dark chocolate torte with pistachio ice cream to finish off. Tasty af. Stuffed to the gunnels now so gonna flop and watch the footie. Happy Sunday y’all
I went out in the pissing rain so it'd be fairly quiet. Usually too many people about for my liking. I don't do general public, would rather they just **** off. Get the ear buds in and ignore them all. My Mrs talks to any ****er, does my head in.
Well known **** hole that is Swansea in the background there mate. Taken from where I live, which admittedly is down Mumbles way in the west side.
Anyway, Brooklyn Lager o clock. **** all else to do but have a couple of beers and watch golf/football.
