I thought we were 2nd best for most of the first half and nothing clicked into place.
The Saints put in a shift as well. (must of told too as they laid on the grass quite alot throughout the game lol). but 2nd half they couldn't keep that intensity up.
we went up a gear and everything then seemed to click into place.
I thought Kiko didn't do to bad and these two games will put him back in the shop window which is good for the club overall.
Great to see Bera back don't think he did anything wrong in his 2nd half cameo.

Really don't know what to do Sunday don't have a ticket but I have itchy feet on going to the ground hoping to see the boys after the game.
Not going to lie I will have a tear in my eye after the game. Pablo deserves a proper send off it's heart breaking how its went for him this season but I guess that's football sometimes.
That goal at Swansea last season is probably one of my most passionate celebrations.

Its been a bastard for millions of footy fans and it just feels worse if you’re a Leeds fan. We never got to see us win the league, we never got to see a lap of honour with the team and their families. We never got to thank Marcelo Bielsa again. We never got to see an open top tour of the City. We never got to scream and shout at the lads on their first game of the season at ER as newly promoted. We havent been there all season to watch some amazing football and results and to see our new overseas stars and the benefits each of them have brought to the team. Only a handful will be present on Sunday to thank the lads and the management and indeed the Board for a fantastic season yet again and players like Pablo and Berardi deserve a big thankyou for their service. So yeah its been shyt but with luck next season could see it all sorted

Morning all,

Another somewhat comfortable win. Soouthampton were on top most of the first half but I have to say I did not feel paticualry worried even with Kiko in goal.

My two main talking points-

Bamford- First off he showed how officials are causing the problem of diving in football by staying on his feet. There was a clear foul as Bamford ran on goal. The touch from the keeper out Bamford off balance allowing the ball to get away from him and a defender to get there to close him down. Take away the foul and there is a strong chance Bamford scores. Therefore it has to be brought back for a penalty.
The on field ref could have done this as it was obvious from Bamfords wobble that he was caught. Secondly VAR should have brought it back but did'nt. This is why players dive/go down easy.
One other thing consequence of that not being given as a pen was seconds later in the next phase of play Bamford was clattered and could have been seriously injured. That would have been the officials fault. It was similar to the way Patricio was injured in the Wolves Liverpool game. The linesman did not raise his flag for a clear foul and Salah chased the ball and collided with Patricio causing a bad head injury. Sooner or later a player will be seriously injured during play that should have been stopped.

Roberts- I was pleased to see him get his first goal even if it was sloppy in the build up. I know he is not everyones cup of tea. On here the criticism is for the most part constructive and I have no problem with that.
However I deleted a few people on twitter last night because the criticism was far from constructive. Comments such as "Leeds playing with 10 men for the lasty ten minutes." or after he scored "Hes still a ****ing ****er" & "**** ****".
This sort of abuse was not even leveled at Kiko.
You can be critical of players without abusing them. It says more about the mentality of the person than it does about the player. No wonder helooked so pleased to score, he must know the abuse he recieves.

Totally agree with you in regards to the ref encouraging diving as it was a foul and prevented Bamford from shooting once he rounds the keeper. But I can’t be hypocritical, I hate VAR and would love to see it scrapped so I’m not going to moan that it didn’t step in other than I sometimes wonder if it prevents refs from making a decision, thinking it will step in to help them out? I wonder if it might have been given without VAR in operation?
