    Roeder possibly. Points in favour:
pre-Ashley, steadied the ship after Souness, we won something. I seem to remember he had the most appalling injury list in the second half of his managership. Unlucky.

Has to be pards for that reason alone. I think the jobs that Rafa and Chrissy done should be a close 2nd and 3rd though.

Well it's obvs Rafa isn't it? Was a success, handled himself with dignity, had a plan to take us forward which he was succeeding at, and left when it became obvious that he was being prevented from taking us forward.

Hughton is second, as he sorted out when we were in a right mess, got the team focused and together and got us straight back up and comfortably in the Prem again. An all round nice guy, who gave his all.

Roeder did fantastic in his first season, but the second was pretty grim. Keegan was a great manager but his second stint was a total farce. Pardew had one good season then a whole load of ****, and was massively irritating cos he was clearly a smooth talking stooge who was a front for Ashley. McClaren, Kinnear, Carver and Shearer were horrific, and Bruce is a bland cabbage who managed to land a job far too good for himself.

Best season was Pardew, best manager was Rafa followed by Hughton.

Pardew finished poorly but I'll never forget that season. We had such a strong team and we were genuinely very very good -exactly the positive free flowing football we all dream of, and the results to match.

And that quarter final next season. When Hatem dropped in and put it just over the bar. If we'd beaten Benfica that night....

Rafa all day long. Under him for the first time under Ashley I had hope and excitement back.

Has to be Rafa all day long, seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year.

Pardew had one excellent season but one excellent season does not a good manager make.

As Chips has just said, Rafa gave us pride back and hope and was not a mouthpiece for Ashley. He also had the dignity to leave when it was clear Ashley would not back him unlike certain others.

It definitely does not, especially as in 2016 Pardew guided Palace to having the worst results record out of all 92 clubs in the 4 divisions. He'll always be more famous for that than finishing 5th....and even with us he's more remembered for losing to Stevenage than finishing 5th.

No doubt he clings to his "I got Newcastle to 5th" in the same way the Mackems do with 6 in a row.

He contradicts himself every so often and he has an agenda against Newcastle. Furthermore proven when he said we should be happy with 17th but his beloved palace should be aiming for higher.

It's a vicious circle unfortunately because over the years some nufc fans have sent abuse to him on twitter everytime he sys the slightest thing they don't like hearing so he says another thing they don't like and so on and so on.

The same applies to keys, rip ferdinand, Jenas and all the others.

If nufc fans just ignored them from day 1 they'd have ended up bickering elsewhere.

Nufc fans are moaning and complaining every ****ing day about every single ****ing thing mate and on the outside they just think "oh **** off"

I agree, like all clubs we do have our fair share of morons, especially on social media. I think the average every day Newcastle fan just wants to see a gameplan and a style of play that we can all identify with. Performances such as Sheffield United and Brentford should rightfully be highlighted in a negative light, just as performances such Leicester away and Southampton at home should rightfully be highlighted in a positive light. It's all about balance. Bruce will stay in my opinion as Ashley won't get rid of him.

    Spot on mate.

14 years of Ashley has lead to such toxicity that the fans have tried to push their opinions on people that simply don't care. If you do that they just see lots of nasty cry arsing and reject it.

So we should just let every pundit who wants to to misquote or brazenly lie about the true position on any subject relating to NUFC on the basis that in 6 to 12 months it will be forgotten about. <doh>

I agree any abuse and any threats are totally unacceptable but my observation relates to those fans who respond appropriately.

Yes we should just ignore them because in case they haven't realised they're making themselves look bad as usual.

Just ignore them and guess what happens? They end up bickering with a dumb fanbase elsewhere.

    They don't respond appropriately.

It doesn't matter what they say anyway it doesn't change anything.. Do nufc fans expect the the media to all say "there there" nufc fans are right about everything?

Firstly that's just not going to happen and secondly nufc are are NOT right about everything.. There's no weird agenda against nufc fans it's just that they're behaving in a way that isn't appealing alot if the time...

The media were supportibe of bruve when he was doing well and they were supportibe of nufc fans when it went wrong.. They're now looking at it and seeing nufc fans complaining when the sides playing well

Theyre as I bad as the very pundits they mock
