Every word is the truth. My autistic son 5 years ago was in nursery and asked a child why his skin was dark, the teacher overheard this and punished him by excluding him from nursery after telling me this was a racist remark??? There was no educating my son on children from around the world.. considering he never knew there were any other countries than our own, only the north pole where Santa lives and the world of Peppa pig!! Only thing my son learned from that experience is to say nothing or he would find himself in trouble. The fear of offending anyone is something that effects our children's future before they grow.

When i was about 8 years old my sister and her boyfriend (soon to be husband) took me to see the film Zulu. At half time (yes films really had them then) Pete (future brother in law) took me to the toilet for a piss. Next to us in the trough was a black man about 7 foot tall (maybe 6 foot in reality but the future BL was 5 foot 4 and tall to me), being the first real black man i had ever seem i asked the obvious question of future BL "is he a Zulu Pete?"
The guy smiled at future BL, ruffled my hair and walked out laughing to himself. Later in life the BL said to me "**** me D, i thought i was dead that night but the guy took it well"
