Every game Weatherley is putting pressure on the other batsmen. Even when he stays in for any length of time he doesn't score. He's got to go.
It's a shame that the forecast remains dodgy for the weekend. I was hoping it might brighten up, such that batting becomes easier on Sunday. Not beyond the realms that we could then chase down 300+ to win (potentially meaning that we could afford to give up a first innings lead - especially as Middlesex love to throw away a winning position). But with the forecast as it is, I'm with you. Any sort of half decent lead could be huge for Middlesex. And they'll surely get that now.
No way did I see this coming after the first 2 and 3/4 matches, we have a good batting line up but could score under 100 in the last 3 first innings.
Tom Banton takes his first ever first-class catch as a wicket keeper to dismiss Ollie Pope off Josh Davey’s bowling. Surrey 167-4.
Correction, it was Abell’s bowling. Interesting decision to drop Steve Davis and give Banton the gloves, but hopefully he’ll be a bit more comfortable batting at 7 than he has been opening.
