Just spotted this on YouTube and it shows quite nicely that Red Bulls rear wing is moving quite a bit once they get over 120kph: If the rules stay as they are, which I think they should then Merc will be working flat out to get a flexi rear wing - as long as budget allows
Turkish gp cancelled and will be replaced by a second Austrian race . https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/57115403
The turbulance on the Mercedes bodywork 'fin' was very apparent, whereas Redbull's was rigid. Dirty air or design difference?
I'm really hoping that the McLaren announcement is that they're oiling up Mansell and trying to squeeze him in a car again. Oh please be that!!!
So that's it.... A one off gulf livery? Well, here was me expecting Nige, and it's just somebody pissing about with stickers.
Well I’m mildly aroused so you might be. https://www.mclaren.com/racing/2021...OlMAu0il374CFmZaD3G7mGibuoaLVatKSIF-05xN8cAKo
I think you have to have some love for McLaren and old liveries for stuff like this Sgt- I did think it might be technological news but this might be the taster for title sponsorship - great publicity might make Gulf smitten enough to go full title sponsor. I think it looks beautiful, but hey that’s art- it’s all subjective.
I mean.... If you're going nostalgia, it would have to be this for me. please log in to view this image But the hype, the buildup... I was expecting them entering Formula E, starting their own powerplant production, some kind of merger or big works deal... Not a one off livery.
It doesn’t half help the other sponsors to stand out on that pale blue instead of trying to do it on the Papaya. Blimey- just how much more fun and creative is this McLaren now under Zack- we’d never have had this under Ron, as brilliant as he was.
See, I'm going to channel my inner Ron... But if you're going for this livery, it needs the blue, the orange, and Gulf. Everything else is just too busy. It's like they loaded the sponsorship in to an elephant gun and shot them at the car. The whole aesthetic is lost. It should be clean and beautiful, and it's not. Sorry for being a downer in this one... But it's balls.
I sort of like it not as a vintage livery but as a modern take on it. Needs a bigger Gulf logo though.
