    Here's my 2 cents worth.....

I honestly can't see the point in keeping any of the current crop of ****, other than KVY (hope he can get and stay fit) Dobra, Downes (if he settles back down) and Norwood. The rest are soooo poor it's unbelievable and have been for a few seasons. So what's the point in keeping them? No room for sentiment I'm afraid. I get that it may take a good year for new players to gel but if that's the case....so be it. That is far better than plodding along with the same old dross and getting nowhere.
I have listened to many interviews etc on you tube with our new owners and i have to say.....what a refreshing change to have such passionate, honest and progressive owners, who get the club already, who are striving for success on and off the pitch, who want the club to be an integral part of the area and who know it doesn't just stop on the pitch. They are going to improve match day experiences, they are gonna improve the ground etc. Bloody brilliant imo and great days ahead!

It is worth acknowledging that when Paul Cook joined Portsmouth and Wigan, he got rid of 28 and 24 players respectively in his first transfer window. He went on to get Portsmouth a play off spot and win League One with Wigan. Hopefully it's a question of trusting his process, which has yielded success before.

People are moaning about Nydham and Doz but to be honest....both are bang average at best. Tristan has had a rough time with injuries but before then, he wasn't that good. As i say, no room for sentiment, if you ain't good enough in PC's eyes then bye bye, i trust him to get it right!

All true, it's not impossible they could nearly all go. Evans' mistake was always forking out for loan wages instead of paying transfer fees and our own players good money, so the owners don't even necessarily need to sink huge sums to overhaul the squad. We could feasibly sign half a dozen out of contract and lower division players for very little outlay and make just a few 'big' signings, keep a few first teamers and make the squad up from younger players. That wouldn’t even be an extreme clear out.

Didn’t realise this but in that case it sounds as though a lot of those players have had it.

I’d be very pleased to see the back of Dozzell.

I've listened to those interviews too and its been a giant love in on the you tube podcasts etc. I just keep thinking what Harvey Keitel said in Pulp Fiction to Travolta and Jackson when they start back slapping each other at cleaning up the car after they shot that guy; 'right, Lets not start sucking each others dicks too soon...'

The Americans have played their cards very well so far, but with no real probing questions on how they are going to finance this endeavour (Ed Schwarz is not going to spank all ORG's money on us-we're one investment of many and we're on the 'high risk/high return column of the spreadsheet,...) .

We don't know what the dynamics are between them with their little 5% holding and ORG. are they paying a 5% of every transfer fee to keep them 'engaged'? Detmer said it took years to get this bad, so it'll take [some time] to get better. We should aim for promotion next season given they need to start making this investment look like a wise one ASAP for there own investors and bank balances but after that, then its gets really hard and I wish someone would ask them:

    1. how are you going to afford the financial back hole that is the Championship. its a millionaires graveyard. 6m for wining it, thats **** all. how much can they pump in and for how long and still get a return on this investment? the only time they're making any money is if/when we get into the PL where even bottom place earns you 100m. The cost of getting there and staying there and giving them a profit is the issue...

    2. what's the end game. are they in for the long haul and aim for sustained PL finishes for a flow of income they can take a tidy profit on and keep us competitive. or will they bail out if a few big transfers go wrong, and PC annoys all the players...

I have to believe that buying us pretty cheaply, with no assets as such to 'strip', means they are gunning for building us up and getting into the PL. Phoenix is a good example of a great business they've built into a sporting success.

But with PC seemingly with finger on the red self destruct button and a lack of detail on this new ownership and how much they can throw at our problems, im with Harvey for now...

That definitely provides a crumb of comfort. I still just can't believe if what is being report is true that players like Woolfenden, Downes and Norwood have been told they can leave.

If that's the case let's hope the club has changes significantly in the past few weeks in terms of closing deals quickly, otherwise we're going to be left with a very small squad with a load of players who've been told they can leave. It's certainly a high risk strategy.

Everything which has been communicated by the new owners so far has been spot on, in fact gone over and above my expectations, however the proof will be in the pudding. And whilst we certainly want to drive standards up and looks like they already have with the calibre of appointment, I'm wary of us losing our identity, for all Evans got wrong him didn't sack managers quickly. I'd hate to think we became a club who hired 'coaches' rather than a manager who changes every year and has little say on recruitment.

Damn it, how do I turn back from here? Alan Judge should be voted as Ipswich's Player of the Season. Spain is an over-rated country. ;)

Looks like PC is appointing lots of inexperienced scousers as coaches at PR. Surely he must have an experienced No.2 coming in.

I feel we need a major overhaul of players to try to get back a desire to win, our current lot seem too comfortable losing.

We’ve had so many no. 2s at Portman Road in the last decade, that’s been the problem.

Great to see Jeffers back at Town. We desperately needed a dedicated attacking coach. Yet another positive appointment.

Let's hope he doesn't get a better offer from elsewhere...not that I'm bitter or anything.

Still remember that, he was the missing piece in Jim's team. I still think his decision to go to Sheffield Wednesday over us not only was a bad decision for his career but I truly believe it could have changed our story as a club since that point. If he would've carried on his form for us into time next season we would've easily made the playoffs.
