Nothing will happen there. Even if there was a points deduction it would be given next season. The EFL board are hopeless governors of our game outside of the EPL.
Whilst all the major channels were havimg a **** fest over the uber-rich Mancs winning the title that they bought, I spent the evening listening to the Scottish Championship relegation/promotion play-off game between my local team, Morton, and Montrose. Tied 3-3 on aggregate after 90 minutes over two legs (as was the other match, between Airdrie and Cove Rangers) so into extra time. Talk about leaving it late, Craig McGuffie curled a beauty into the top corner in the 119th minute.... Not the greatest angle of camerawork, but fair to say the Montrose goalie wasn't too chuffed Had the commentator revisiting his teenage years as his voice breaks though Two matches next week to save their position in the Championship - with 500 supporters allowed to attend. I'd guess there were about 100 gathered on the hill behind the ground last night...
Bit off topic in a way. Champions league final is between 2 English clubs. I am sure to accomodate 8000 fans it would make sense for new venue to be here in UK. Yet it seems Portugal might now host? I get its a European competition, but seeming as both finalists English then should be here surely? Or am I missing something UEFA knows?
Surrey, UEFA wanted to use Wembley but the government wouldn't allow free access & no quarantine to 2000 sponsors, staff & guests so Portugal it is
I’m not a greeny tree hugger but seems a huge waste of money and carbon emissions etc making thousands of people travel abroad unnecessarily.
Just a pure example of football NOT being about the fans. In a year plus of terrible loss and sadness there is an opportunity to take a common sense decision. Instead they take a choice based on multinational sponsors and guests not having to quarantine. Screw fans, screw sportsmen and their families.
No one cares about the legacy customers What would happen to the final if international travel was restricted so the teams couldn't travel
Leeds are ripping Burnley a new one, Burnley 0 Leeds 4, some really good goals & Leeds are playing some lovely stuff
Let’s hope Burnley drop next season. Or Palace if the rumours about Dyche going there come true. For the first time for some years I’m going to make an effort to watch the Cup Final today. We all know who we want to win, don’t we?
Eze is getting great write ups everywhere, wouldn’t surprise me if his stay at Palace is a short one. Fear that he could end up at the sinking ships that are Spurs or Arsenal, don’t think he’s quite ready for the City/Utd/Liverpool/Scum.
Leicester would be a good fit for Eze under Roger's management....... ......and I think we're all Leicester fans today....
I agree but I don’t think he fits the Leicester recruitment strategy, already too well known for them, and I assume they are building around Maddison. I’d assume next move takes Eze to superstar/main man status. Apparently, when he walks on the pitch today, Jamie Vardy will become the first player to have played in every round of the FA Cup, including all the preliminary qualifying rounds. In 2013 he was offered a job as a rep in Ibiza and nearly took it because he felt he wasn’t doing well enough with Leicester….. Pearson persuaded him that he would be fine.
It's a difficult one, as I've always felt Eze would respond well to having really good players around him. Agreed not ready for the really big boys.........yet.
It’s great to have a real crowd, including my Foxes pal, making some noise at a game. Leicester riding it out a bit at the moment.
