It's Greater Manchester, like Bolton. The Watford of the North. The Luton of Lancashire.

No mate it's nothing like them. It's far closer to the comparison with Tottenham.

Tottenham's in London. Sale isn't in Manchester. It's in the wider Manchester area, like Bolton and Preston.
I don't see why it really matters, but that's just a Rafa fact.

It doesn't, but you've raised it and it's incorrect.

I know what you're getting at but it's nothing like Bolton. Every area around here comes under Greater Manchester, that includes the city of Manchester so is that like Bolton as well? Of course not. There are areas in Greater Manchester with a Manchester postcode (M) and Sale is one. Bolton and the others you've mentioned aren't. To compare it to Watford and London is a piss take <laugh>

Sale is about five miles from Manchester centre. Preston, which is not in Greater Manchester anyway, is about 38.

Which is about the same as Liverpool is.

Been to Preston several times for games, in years gone by, always seems end of the world away. Although been to Fleetwood and that's even further.

Good question - I actually don't know. If we were in the same league back then, I would have done.

2011/12. Fleetwood were in the conference and Gillingham were in League 2, so you missed out, I'm afraid.
You were too good to play against him, apparently.

I did wonder if that was the case.

We missed Leicester as well when they were in League One....we were in League Two at the time.

I was told years ago that clubs have to inform safety officials of the attendance by kick off. As the season tickets have already been sold, those people could, within reason, turn up after the game has started.I guess the clubs have to assume if the seats been sold, someone will want to sit in it?

They also have to provide the actual amount in case of an emergency requiring evacuation such as a fire i believe.

You can get actual attendances via FOI from the local authority. West Ham fans were doing it not long ago.
