We have too many players in that crowded midfield. Further, we have players that are also very similar to Sancho in the way that he plays. I really don’t think that the void is absolutely there. If we are talking about an out and out winger in the mold of Beckham or Giggs, then perhaps. But that’s not what Sancho does. His gameplay and distribution of last pass is closer to Bruno than it is to Beckham.

I even forgot to consider Diallo. If we consider how good Diallo is on the right when he gets his chance, I would say that we do not need Sancho.

Worth mentioning that this is not about a question of how great of a player Sancho. But I don’t think he’s what the team needs at this point.

A squad wanting to compete for a league title does though.

Would you say that lack of strength in the midfield is what cost us the league title this year? Because I would disagree on that point when I look at the options that we have outside of the starting 11. Sir Alex would kill to have this squad in his last few seasons.

Ultimately, I’d rather see Greenwood start all our games next season than see him become a bit-part player. If Sancho comes in, he’s bound to become a part player for the season. The boy is damn good enough to be a starter.

If that’s how others treat their young players, they won’t develop into the talent that they are today with everyone willing to spend £80-100m when they are barely 21 years old.

With Diallo, he too needs to get games and bringing in even more competition means we will end up flushed with good players that will never achieve their full potential at United.

Sancho bothers me, especially at the price tags linked with him.
I have seen too many superstars in the BL (Dortmund in particular) that turn out **** or ordinary at best in the PL
Kagawa (loved the guy but nothing special), Mkhitaryan (fantastic stats for Dortmund **** for us), Reus ( same as Mkhi but not for us), Aubemayang fantastic in the BL fairly average in the PL, Ibisevic superb for Hoffenheim disappeared after, Ba, great for Hoffenheim average for Chelsea, Firmino great second striker at Hoffenheim, **** at Liverpool.

The Bundesliga is not the place to judge future PL players.

So, clear evidence again that we need centre half, defensive centre midfield and a right attacking player.

As I've been saying since what feels like forever.

Sancho, Rice and Kounde as the ones?

Here is an idea… With Pogba wanting £400k, get rid of him and bring in Jadon. I really disdain Pogba’s agent and his money grabbing antics. Get in a younger player, take £50m for Pogba and move forward from there.

Yep. However good he has been lately he’s definitely not worth that amount. These outlandish payments for so called star players have cost us dear in the past. The likes of Sanchez, Di Maria, Falcao come to mind. Of course we have to pay the going rate for players and I think the manager is doing the right thing steering a course of using big players mixed with young home produced talent.

I really can’t bare another thought of what he thinks he deserves and all the drama surrounding him and that insane agent. It is the reason why I hope we steer clear of even trying for Harlaand. Anything with that agent is bad news.

The manager must continue to build on solid grounds of players that truly want to be at the club. Get away from mercenaries as best as we can.

while i agree with the general point re the Bundeslegia , in fact have made the same point on our board , to say Firmino has been **** for us is just bollocks - well until the last year at least .

    Sane wasn't **** for City.

Still think Sancho would be a good, and much needed, signing

I must have missed the Pogba demanding £400k a week story. Where was this?

Yeah i accept that bit was badly worded, the point i was trying to get over was the way his goals fell away compared to his time at Hoffenheim. Still did a great job for you though.

Sane was very much a Martial, had the talent but only used it when in the mood and given that (like Martial) he was a sulky twat it wasn't often enough.

Not seen the Pogba bit either, no way is he worth that.

    Interesting.

I wouldn't blame the bloke in any way shape or form if he just thought, **** this I've got three or fours years left at the the very top, I'm joining City.

He'd win those medals he craves, no doubt.

Can't see him going to Chelsea for some reason.

Plus, I wouldn't want to enter in any sort of bidding 'war' with City and end up with another Alexis Sanchez.

Only way he comes to United is if he says right at the start that's where he wants to go.
    Otherwise, just forget it.

A lot of news outlets have reported that Pogba wants £400k per week contract. It makes sense to see the smoke in the story considering he has yet to sign the deal that he’s been offered with one year remaining.

I don’t really see us paying £120m for Kane. City won’t either. They are shrewd with the way they generally do business. It is said though that Messi going City is back on the cards again which limits the destination option for Kane. But then again, I don’t see City taking on Messi at his age.

What, shrewd in that they can buy/discard a £50-60 million centre half or full back or two here and there until one turns out to be good?

Hence, making the manager a genius for improving the one he buys that's decent.

    That type of shrewd?

Pep never had to buy a centre forward by the way, he inherited a worldie. And Jesus ain't anywhere near all that.

I'd like to think he'll make do with the lad who got a hattrick against the utterly ****e toon defence the other day but I doubt it somehow.

Let’s give Pep credit, Chief. We have probably spent as much as City over the past five years, but what do we have to show for it?

And the lad that scored a hattrick against that so-called sht defence only cost them £20m. Who wouldn’t take that? The fact that Pep never had to buy a striker, has Jesus in his team, and inherited bulk of the core team is something I think is worthy of further credit where it is due.

I’m not particularly a fan of Pep as I find his teams boring and too mechanical to watch, but the man is a machine when it comes to coaching and getting his team to produce.

It would have to be Haaland, but that fkin agent though… maybe we can make an exception lol. But then again, it is believed that they want huge contract as well. Too many goddamn mercenaries!!
