    Morning all,

Another day of too many races and a mixed set of fixtures in all codes. Racing is a mess.

The one that caught my eye today is -

    7:00 Tara Iti

Now this is trained by Ed Dunlop, so that will probably have alarm bells ringing!! However I think this horse is interesting based on how lopsided its form is. He raced three times on the artificial surfaces last season, running poorly on all occasions, and then went to Leicester and won on handicap debut from a mark of 60. He then reappeared on artificial surfaces and was well beaten off this mark of 66.

Now back on turf, with probably enough cut in the surface to make the race a test, he is very interesting.

    Gabriella's Spirit, 9/1, @ Catterick, 1:08 race

Eric Alston does well with his sprinters, especially the 5f type, and a healthy return on his trips out to Catterick as well...<ok> <cheers>

Its a long time ago since I put up a winner here but I will try another one :emoticon-0100-smile

    Ffos Las 1.30 Eaton Collina

Has shown some promise when placed in a couple of novice hurdles last year. First run in a competitive handicap hurdle last time out at Newbury on good ground was better than finishing position may suggest (jumped well until 5 out, weakened 2 out). Best run last year was on good to soft so todays going should suit. Could go well for each way purposes.Yard only had 2 runners last 14 days with the one beaten fav in 3rd and the other unplaced.

Never bet on a Monday I was told, yet here I am again.

I picked Vintage Rascal as a horse to follow last season but he never got out of the box in just two races where he was pretty poor both times. The son of Nathaniel had looked promising when winning on his debut at Windsor, coming away to triumph by over four lengths. Based on his sire I thought he should improve but clealry there was something amiss, as he was gelded soon after his second run last season.

Not seen since that June race last year he finds himself back at the scene if his win and on a Handicap mark of just 80. I felt he was interesting but he is very weak in the betting today.

Top weight HMS President once held a Derby entry but has also been gelded now. He may have a say now that he is in more realistic territory and He seems sure to run well today.

4.25 Windsor HMS President 9/2 and small cover on Vintage Rascal 14/1 just in case he has improved for being de-knackered.

    Small bet

    Killarney
19,10 Game Of War 18/1 e/w bet365 three places, Sky 16/1 five, others four.

The furthest he has gone so far under rules has been 2m 5f. Today he is trying to go over 3m 2f, perhaps desperately. Just to watch the race with a bit of interest.

Delighted with HMS President at 9/2. He looked in trouble briefly but the further they went the better he looked and he stayed on strongly to win with a bit to spare.

Vintage Rascal was prominent and also ran well until it looked like his lack of a recent outing took its toll and he got tired. Not a bad effort after so long off the track and he may get further respite from the Handicapper after this effort.

A winner on a Monday, my my.

The recent 6 in the form figures suggest well beaten but in fact this one was less than 1.5L behind the winner. Sandwiched in the bunch between them was Sea Karats. Now either the form is not worth diddly or it could be a lot better than anything else in this. I am taking the punt that it’s the latter as the race at Newbury is already looking half decent.

Yeah but still disappointing not to see it finish it’s race off from where it was. Handicap mark will not be pretty one expects.
