Agreed but be honest, after the cynical season ticket boosting 'we are looking for a proven manager' lie that went on and on, Holden was left with hardly any time, we spent 1.2mil on an injured player and then exacerbated it by f*****g up his rehab and sub standard loans of Brunt, Mariappa, Sessegnon and Lansbury, hardly a way to progress an already weak squad? and Pearson has managed to bring in one unattached old timer, I really don't know what you and others expect?, you can only polish the turds that want to be polished and I think more than a few don't want to be polished and I hope they pay for that, there is no reason not to put 100% as a so called professional, none at all.
I didn't personally criticise LJ, I did emphasise era and included the whole potpourri of structure he was a participant of, we did sign 6 players or so in those 2 windows I agree but NP has got a mountain of problems he has inherited, I never expectecd any magic from him just a cold, hard, gradual improvement and the green shoots are already showing with the 6 plus youngsters that have already turned in a performance for us, the OOC brigade he inherited will soon be gone, things will get better from then.
6 signings one injured and 5 sub standard loans, is a recipe for disaster. At various time I think up to 9 youngsters have been blooded this season, most by Pearson and they have IMHO embarrassed the shirkers that we have in that squad. I can forgive my team most things as long as I believe they are putting 100% effort every time they put on the shirt and that has not been the case for 2 seasons a total of 32 wins in the past 2 seasons says everything needed to know about our squad. Are we worse than last season, yes of course we are, but that is the thing with rot once it sets in it only goes way if left unattended.
Is that the youngest City bench ever ? Of the 21 selected for the squad yesterday members of the 65 are conspicuous by their absence.
Not bothered who goes up from League one nor do I care about LJ and Sunderland and what he could’ve done here and blah blah but it would make me laugh if we had an Oxford vs Sunderland Final with Matty Taylor scoring the winner for Oxford.
You do realise that most of the 65 are no longer with us don’t you? Now that he’s gone you can tell us why you’re so bitter. My monies on him turning down your advances to him.
All I can say is, thank God that season is over. I had more faith in the squad we had in the old 4th division that I do in this bunch of wasters. Onwards and upwards. Bring on season 2021/2022 and lets see some positive attitudes from a new look squad.
