Great day for Somerset, Hampshire digging in well.

 

Simple strategy for Hants really tomorrow, should there be any play. Weatherley just has to stay at the crease, doesn't matter how slow his RR is. Northeast, Vince, Dawson to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

 

I'm in Hedge End and rather annoyingly it's stopped raining.

 

Credit where it's due, it was a real battling effort for Weatherley to survive for over 3 hours and protecting the middle order from the new ball, just what an opener is there for in 4 day cricket.

 

Another inspection at 4pm then. Still too wet to play at the Ageas Bowl.

And even that much I'd be slightly dubious. I wouldn't be shocked if the light became an issue.

I was looking on the BBC page for CC matches in June and July and found nada.

 

That’s because there aren’t any. The CC has a break for the white ball season and the Hundred.
