They were "sold off" as all contract negotiations under the eurocracy had to be offered to any company based in the eu, we played by the rules the others didn't ... especially the French but the Germans weren't far behind.
Most of what we eat is imported. Most of what we catch is exported. Most of our fish quotas aren't owned by our fishermen at all, they're in the hands of UK millionaires of foreigners.
Just quadruple the tax on French wine and cheese. In fact stop buying any EU wine. Apparently we drink gallons 9f the stuff my green bin is usually full.
From memory I think there's about half a dozen wealthy UK families who snap up quotas and allow the highest bidders to use them. Strange that the public are so protective of our UK quotas when we eat less fish, percentage wise than countries like Spain which is probably twice as much.
FFS man, they banned our meat even when proven clear, they blockaded the ports to stop our wagons getting stuff delivered, farmers attempting to block anything they feel like and now this...is it just us they try to rile or is it anyone that 'dares' to go against them? blow the fecks out of the water if they wont move, what they are doing is illegal.
i know they are pretty much disliked around europe, even had a driver from norway calling them all w@nkers for fining him 4k euros while he was on his regulation break...sorry like, i know you had a good life out there but they really dont care who they upset as they just keep getting away with it and the govt never do anything to stop it.
Totally agree with all that mate. Sadly, leaving Europe was never going to endear ourselves or make things easier. They're a naturally contrary race even with each other. They don't just cut their nose off to spite their face ... ... they come back for the ears
This is a great read for any one who hasn't seen it. I doubt Macron, mini Napoleon ( his hero) , apologist for Petain and very strange guy all round would enjoy it, but we'll worth a few quid.
I remember Wendy Morton from two or three failed attempts to be elected in the NE ... ... I'm sure the French ambassador will be terrified.
