Haven’t posted for a while just been watching but Ben Jacobs would be part of any anti competition case anyway as he has been fed information from the premier league so wouldn’t pay much attention to him.
I’m not sure: I’ve said the same thing he has: and I’m worried. Plus. NDM is very VERY quiet as is JR. This is a classic case of wtf do I do now. Have PIF walked away because of the ESL carry on. Is the potential for 51:49 scuppering it?
Having an opinion isn’t anti competitive though.....any stakeholder in the PL or any of its key partners are perfectly entitled to state an opinion.
I’ve reread the document. It’s clear as day it’s a compo in the event of failure? Why raise this if your confident. I hope it’s not PIF walking away given the state of European football?
Quite clearly with recent events of if you don’t give us what we want we will leave the league it is more than just an opinion.
Well beIN’s opinion is hardly hard to guess is it, given the Saudis allowed piracy of the licence they’d paid for? Fellow stakeholders in the PL may or may not have stated an opinion, it doesn’t matter a jot unless he can somehow prove they all colluded together, in addition to the reason given for failure to pass the takeover being also proved wrong. Smacks of a petulant haymaker to me
I think the paperwork makes clear what the argument would be - whether it was an ‘opinion’ which caused unusual delay and a consequent loss of a sale, or an explicit ‘decision’ will be neither here nor there - otherwise the default would always be “let’s not make a decision and we’re untouchable”
Yes, pressure to play for time (unreasonably) - the key will be what papers/emails/records exist that would show any delay/opinion was designed to unfairly advantage a cartel... for want of a better label
It’s a strange action given the issue is already in tribunal. It reeks of a Fat Mike powerplay attempt, only we both know it’d take years (if ever) to get the info released he’d need to make it stick, which he patently hasn’t got, so it’s speculative by definition.
I suspect, in the cold light of the evening, that arbitration has failed to give us (NUFC/Big Mick) the result we were after. We’ve gotten wind of an arbitration loss and then flown in the face of the principles of alternative dispute resolution by going to court anyway. In his defence - if there’s evidence of bad actors then I support him because I’d like to see that outed, plus arbitration is written into the PL rules so you don’t genuinely sign up to it voluntarily- which itself flies in the face of alternative dispute resolution. so **** em really
