Not only do we need better quality players for next season but we need more intelligent players also, the times we play tippy tappy amongst ourselves totally oblivious to the chance of a fast break from a quick through ball is ridiculous and the chance has gone, nobody will take responsibility and take a shot from the edge of the area, free kicks and corners come and go with no goal threat at least we could rely defenders and midfielders to score a few goals not so long ago but not now, who would have thought we would have a team where no one can score match after match.

A lot of that surely comes down to the manager, coaching staff and just confidence field. Dyer touched on this in his post match press conference the other night. Definitely we need more courageous players at the club but this is why I was so keen on Dyer / Burley / Butcher. I can just imagine their first priority would be to tell these players to shoot on sight and start testing the keepers.

The biggest thing these players need to understand is nobody cares if you hit the corner flag with a shot and no one cares if you trip over your laces trying to burn away from a defender. No one cares if you beat a defender and then you get tackled. We care when they fluff a shot gently to the keeper, they can’t pick out a team mate under no pressure, hoof it forward aimlessly or wait in the final third for support to arrive.

That’s the only message these players are bafflingly not hearing.

Lots of fair comment here, our new dawn starts after Saturday.

Wardy has left on the same contractual issue as Judge. More will walk thru the door. The rest will start hearing a lot before they take their holidays.

12 short weeks and a new Town team takes to the PR turf.

Dare we hope for better times?
Where' s Westy? Keeping his powder dry.

Down to management and coaching ? That's possibly correct but as someone said long ago " you can't develop whats not there " and Evans disastrous tenure of our Club led to us scrabbling around in the bargain basement and rejects tip like a tramp at a rummage sale.
But the time for looking back is over and the time for looking forward is here and we should soon see the intentions of our new owners by the quality of the recruitment.

I've forgotten what it's like to get excited about a signing!

Or to look forward to a transfer window at all. Faith that signings that look good on paper will be successful has been completely eroded over the years. Head knows that it'll be different from now on but I think it needs to be seen to be believed.
