Vestergaard until he got injured. Romeu until he got injured. I'll go with Armstrong, but would be happy if either WP picked up the award too.
KWP just, in front of JWP & Stuey for me. Couldn't possibly pick big Vesty after all the many times I ran him down prior to this season.
Never really understood the attitude of ‘the second half of the season has been so bad the we must negate all of the first part’. It’s quite pervasive, and quite weird.
Has to be Stuey all day long. It is only him and KWp that drive at the opposition consistently. JWP needs to be more forward thinking for me to consider him
Gone with JWP, hope he makes the euros. Stuey is a fab player too, the odd pass or too can sometimes let him down but his positive running on and off the ball is to be admired.
Even though he's been off the boil post-COVID, I've went with Ings. Might be a little odd to choose a player who was only at their best for the first three months, but those three months where Ings dominated are the reason we'll be a Premier League side next year.
Quite shocked that KWP only has five votes. Amazing from JWP to play every minute but a lot of those minutes haven’t been him at his best. I think in the second half of the season he’s not been driving us forward like he did in the first half. Armstrong deservedly up there but I just think KWP is integral to the team and he rarely makes a mistake.
Im not negating the first half, we were very good (in the main) for that half. We’ve been very bad (in the main) since, maybe they should rename it “player of the season up til the Liverpool game when we turned **** and no body deserves credit after that point”? Catchy
I went for KWP - JWP has been great too but he needs to drive forward more and be more commanding, Stuey has been great too but sometimes disappears in games. They would all be 8 out of 10 for me but KWP edges it as there is a sense of relief when he is on the teamsheet.
Yep, it was that close for me too but plumped for JWP because he hasn't missed a game. Oriol would be about a 7.5 and Jannick, Danny and Che 7.
Went for JWP...ever present and ever reliable this season, but a little bit because he's one of the good guys and is red and white through and through.* *at the time of writing
To be fair quite a few of them have been in and out of the team with injury, covid, suspensions since then...Danny at least 3 times KWP twice etc. Not great for continuity and form.
Agree with everything you said. I think James, just. Sounds like a good band name, Jesus Jones comes to mind!
