HDM being what they are, had to link to one of their other rags for the story, as it didn't even relate to Hull, but still topped us going up as Champions.

I can see Baz Cooper's twitter is offline for the weekend but just checking the paper copy, if we aren't on that front page it's a disgrace.

Will it include quotes and congratulations from our glorious council leaders and how they think City's promotion will be beneficial to the local economy ?
On similar lines to the announcement they made when Hull was named as a 'World Cup' base for the Kiwi RL team later this year would suffice.

No sign of any congrats from any of our local MPs or civic leaders on Twitter just full of bitter mithering about wallpaper etc.

    Vote wisely.

You think a change would be a no-brainer. But we all know it won't happen

Sorry if that's to close to the rules.

Not about wallpaper though is it. It's about recognising the achievements of Grant and his staff.

I don't believe any local MP or civic leader is interested in football - or Hull City. Fair enough.

But it's the most popular sport in this country and the world, so surely a good natured acknowledgement of our club's success this season would be a pragmatic crowd-pleasing message.

Not sure if this driven by antipathy towards current owners or just gormless amateurish canvassing skills.

    Both probably.

I don't believe any local mp really has any interest ( past their own self gain ) in Hull full stop.

I don't believe any MP has anything but self interest at the heart of what they do.

In fairness to the HDM that's not so, unless they've brought back early, late, and final editions. The headline of today's paper is 'CHAMPIONS' above that on the left is a link to p2--3 about City and one the right about the Tigers p45-48. The back page is almost totally about City with a link to p42-43. As with most of the litter type stories, it'll probably be in tomorrow's paper on page six. :emoticon-0100-smile

The issue is : how many other cities would be so reticent about their football club's success?

It's not modesty, it's either lack of savvy or lingering bitterness.

I wonder when his 1st game was ?

Really impressive how the local RL clubs went from 3,000 gates to taking 60,000 diehards to Wembley in a few short years.

It shows the deep seated realisation that most people wouldn't have a clue, when he has to add that his red and white shirt was KR and rugby. :emoticon-0102-bigsm
