Right now, I would say Slater is the number one pick for that position, even ahead of Jones. He's always looking to get on the ball, and moves it quickly, which is what I think gives him the edge over the others. I think Alfie Jones' long term best position is as a ball playing centre back, which teams with ambitions towards the top end of the Championship need. Burke might be (currently) slightly ahead defensively, but Jones is much better in possession.
Congrats. I think you'd have gone up second anyway but, yeah, you can safely say that that decision went your way at a fairly opportune moment.
Opposition teams should study that closely, to make sure they get the goal celebrations against Peterborough correct.
Last year at Endike Junior school for me, then off to Hull Grammar after a rather splendid summer holiday in France watching quarter to final of England’s victory in cafes there. Great to see City as champions again, well done everyone and us supporters too.
Elmohamady at White Hart lane. Michael Oliver referee, ridiculous decision. City lose to the penalty 1 nil!
Worst penalty given against us was at Burnley, player falls over, gets penalty, Geo protests and gets sent off. Mike Jones should have been beaten to death after that game.
Jones was really bad that day, Geo’s free kick was ruled out for no reason. City fans got a great view of the so called penalty Nearest City player was several feet behind him when he went over. We certainly didn’t get any fair decisions that game. Seemed like a hidden agenda. The reverse of the penalty decision against Villa at home by Bennett was also dreadful Ashley Young’s hand of God tip over the bar. Martin O’Neil and his sidekicks with their own version of VAR on laptops.
The game at West Ham under Phelan where we hit the woodwork three times then some scrote hurled themselves to the grass for a penalty was another proper felony.
I remember chatting to a couple of Burnley fans after that match, and even they admitted the decisions were ridiculous.
I wouldn't disagree with that, I'm just not confident we will sign Slater, with the Blunts dropping down to the Championship he may well get game time for them.
I think you'd have bottled it.... you were more than lucky.... I hope you're NOT proud of your team...
I have to say that’s one of the worst penalty decisions I have ever seen. Peterborough player should have been booked or even sent off for simulation. Get this play acting stamped out, it’s appalling. As for the referee for this game - he should be demoted. He may have cost Lincoln the opportunity for automatic promotion.
Our player didt ask for the penalty the ref gave it . imps for the last 20 mins put 10 players behind the ball .Look how many penalty's they been given this year by cheating .I prefer to have one the correct way .
Your player celebrated when the penalty was awarded. He no doubt knew what he was doing. Sorry, but I just hate all this conning refs to get penalties and free kicks. As for the ref, well words fail me.
