Brendan Rodgers has aired his frustration at the length of time it is taking to secure international clearance for Vangelis Moras. The Swansea boss has endured a wretched run of luck in the transfer market when it comes to the pursuit of defensive recruits. He had been looking to bring in cover for the inured Alan Tate on deadline day, but saw two deals break down. Fede Bessone returned to the club after being released by Leeds, but Darnel Situ and Rafik Halliche's switches from Lens and Fulham failed to gain the required international clearance from Fifa. With the window now closed, Rodgers has turned his attention to free agents. Greek defender Moras falls into category after parting company with Bologna and Swansea are hoping they will eventually get the green light to bring him in on a short-term agreement. They are, however, still waiting on the Italian football federation (FIGC) to give the go-ahead. Incredible Rodgers said: "Everything is agreed, he has signed but we are waiting on the paperwork. "I find it incredible that it takes so long, people at the club are working tirelessly to find a solution but as yet we have not. "The only good thing is he (Moras) has looked fitter every day with us and his adaptation to our work has gone well in the last two weeks. "It's not ideal but I don't worry about anything out of my control. But it is frustrating, you want the best players available. "This is a learning curve for us as we are at a new level, we are working with new players and federations, but as long as we find a solution sooner rather than later that will be the main objective." Rodgers will put 30-year-old Moras into his squad for Saturday's trip to face Norwich at Carrow Road if the required paperwork comes through in time. .
Bloody annoying, was wondering what was taking so long with this transfer, makes you think if the club knows what it is doing with these transfers honestly, are we doing our side of things properly and a multitude of others getting it wrong, or is it the Swans themselves?
Why is it that all large organisations, from the NHS, to big businesses, to football associations are mired in bloody paperwork? It's not rocket science ffs!
Yeh, but does anybody get the impression if we were a big club Uefa or fifa who ever it may be, would have had this authorised quickly and the player would have been signed and ready to play. just wonder whether they are just dragging their heals as it is little ols Swansea or is it we as a club are doing something wrong. Will we ever know. Its just so frustrating when you see all the big transfers go through just after deadline date. Just getting a bit frustrated with the whole situation. come on Uefa or Fifa, who ever has the say @PULL YOUR F**KING FINGER OUT'
Seems the bigger the organisation the more inept not to say elitist..the only good thing is as BR say's tho longer it takes the easier he will fit into the team and he can only get fitter...bloody frustrating though
Bloody annoying I say. Bet brendan must be wondering if there is a vendetta out against us, as have all said before one rule for the big boys and us small clubs must just be thankful and not upset the apple cart.
that's the problem...we are a small club and it does not matter......if we were man utd they would fax the necessary paperwork immediately.....it stinks..
I was under the impression that things are more difficult for us because we are seen as an international team playing in English league. And we come under the jurisdiction of the FA and FAW. Surely sensible thing to do would have been to cut all ties with FAW
To date we have had the following issues with players in or out with regards to international clearance.. Ryan Harley - Out - Delayed eventually went through. Jason Scotland - Out - Delayed eventually went through Vangellis Moras - In Darnel Situ - In Rafik Halliche - In David Edgar - In What is going on ?????
Really? Could be in the squad tomorrow then. Ah yes. Got it: http://bbc.in/qGcsiJ Will put up a thread.
