So what makes him an idiot then? The 14 game unbeaten run? The breaking of a short losing run today? Securing a place in the playoffs? Our first Wembley win for 48 years?
The capitulation of the last few weeks. He was a dreadful appointment. Even if we win the play offs we need to be brave and make the change.
Whilst I don’t rate Flanagan, he had Dembele in his pocket second half against Posh in our first game. And he’s apparently their best player
Every manager loses games sometimes. We weren't ever heavily beaten and the two games prior to today were simply unlucky. In no way does that constitute a capitulation. I think he's made a significant difference to an average squad. What makes him a dreadful appointment?
He’s doing a worse job than Parkinson according to points per game, we haven’t played well in a game since at Portsmouth. He will never get a team promoted automatically as he goes on dreadful runs, it’s happened at all 4 clubs he’s been at now.
He's achieved more than any manager for at least the last 10 years. He's doing better than Parkinson in the only thing that matters- the league table. It seems to me that a lot of people just don't like him because he doesn't speak in clichés. Because he doesn't fit the football manager stereotype.
The league table is largely irrelevant though regarding when Parkinson left, points per game is the key barometer to use and Johnson has done worse.
I'm of the opinion that if we can get some sort of back three/four assembled and a full quota returned to the midfield area, we will be much harder to break down. We need to defend as a team again. As you say, the goals at the other end will take care of themselves.
Well you think we'll never get out of the second tier, so having people who you don't rate will suit your agenda perfectly.
Would like to be proven wrong. We’ve been here before though, the promise of new owners and nothing ever changes, why will this be any different?
So its largely irrelevant that we've secured a place in the playoffs? We were 8th when Parkinson was sacked. We're now third. The only way that PPG is a barometer of Johnson's performances is if your scraping around looking for excuses to criticise him.
The other day there was something like 0.01 in it and today's win suggests that Johnson's PPG will have improved drastically.
