If the current standings hold, it will be the seventh different combination of teams in the top four in the past eight years.

The only combination to feature twice in that span is City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham.

Its really not on. Those billionaires didn’t outspend everyone else only to finish outside the top 5.

I agree, if only there was a way of guaranteeing that they’d always finish in the European spots every year...

or at the very least were guaranteed an extra place because a totally different group of players were good 20 years ago. It’s about history man, legacy, iconic status. Nobody cares about ****ing Leicester. Is that even in England? Nobody lives there.

This chap is clearly determined to buy Arsenal. Sadly, they are not for sale even with his billions. If only there was an alternative premier league club, not too far from London, that was indeed for sale at a much lower price.

TBH I'd prefer him to concentrate on paying artists properly from his sodding platform....

Don't know too much about it. All I have seen are the likes of Taylor Swift complaining about it and when a multi'millionaire starts moaning about not getting paid enough, I tend to switch off!

As a consumer I love spotify and much prefer £10 per month to listen to what I want, when I want, rather than have to pay £10 for an album of about 15 song, 5 of which are likely crap.

It's not really the right thread, but Swift isn't complaining really for herself. She's complaining because the system is utterly rigged against small artists and songwriters getting paid their fair share, and bent towards Spotify and the major labels ripping off artists.

Of course you prefer £10 a month to listen to what you want, just as I'd prefer to buy a Ferrari for a tenner, rather than pay £150,000 for it. Unfortunately that won't pay the people building the Ferraris. So it doesn't happen.

The platform as an idea isn't the problem, it's the distribution of the results that are.

If you're genuinely interested, you can find out more about what the problem is via the Broken Record campaign - https://www.newstatesman.com/cultur...roken-record-music-streaming-spotify-tom-gray

Off topic, but a cracking read that - It has given me an insight to something I have never really thought about - I pay (well get it 'free' with my EE phone contract) for Apple Music and just presume the money ends up with the artists from the songs i listen to (I must take that song Womb off continuous play now :) ).

To bring it back on topic slightly, that is a bit like the fact that Norwich, Watford and Maybe Bompey's parachute money comes back to the Premier league (because they clearly need it) rather than stays in the championship fo the remainder of the clubs.

Yeah, Tom's great and he's doing a fabulous job trying to get people (in government, but generally too) to understand this. You can have Womb on rotation (thank you! Please continue..!) but some of the money that should go to Holly (and it won't yet, cos we still owe the label a fair amount!) will instead be going to Manchester Ci...I mean, Ed Sheeran.

And that is so, so, so wrong!

Yeah I've been following this story for a while. Its not about the Taylor Swifts, its just that their voices get amplified the most. Its not even about the smaller bands. There are bands that are getting millions of listens, 10's of millions and the income works out to be 60 grand or something. Thats f'all even if you're a duo. Spotify meanwhile has taken in billions from the subscriptions on those listeners.

The industry used to be about labels fronting money, paying expenses for new artists, marketing, manufacturing, distributing CDs/LPs and that was why they took 90% of the revenue. Now, they don't do any of those things yet spotify is paying a massive, massive amount of money to labels just for the rights to stream the artists, instead of paying the artists themselves. The labels are worse than spotify in all this, they are now ripping artists off without actually having to do any of the label things, labels used to do.

Amoral. greedy, selfish individual who has zero understanding of the process behind what makes him rich but has been very lucky off the back of a world full of creative people. I can't fathom what Arsenal fans think will be an upgrade. He's no better and he's worth far, far less. So whatever you want from your billionaire owner, he will be less able to deliver it.

I see that it's finally been confirmed that it'll be GW37 fixtures (rather than GW36 fixtures) which will pushed into the midweek before the final day. With GW36 fixtures being pushed into the weekend vacated by GW37 fixtures.

So home to Leeds will have fans, if everything goes to plan.

BBC fixtures have the Palace game on the 11th May as well although don't think that is confirmed and like you say, the Leeds game will be played midweek the w/c 17th May
