Grujic on £25k. Whatever happened to him?

How do these players on 'only' £5k a week get by?

£5k a week for 10 years is over 2.5 million.
At the uk average salary of £38k per annum it would take 65 years to earn the same ammount.

Salah on over £10m a year.

    Bale over £15m.

It is all ridiculous and totally at odds with the real world.

When tv money is scaled back as it will at some stage many of these players will be in for a major shock.

I wonder how much effect Covid will have on these amounts in the next year or two.

Back in the day the players earned the same by and large as the fans on the terraces, caught the bus to the game, and had a benefit game when retired before ending up owning a pub.

I remember johnnie Haynes getting £100 a week and he was Fulham and England captain,i remember thinking I would like to be a footballer but ended up as a toolmaker apprentice, on £3 a week and had to give my old mum £2,mind you a pint of silver drum best bitter was 6 pence and a packet of chips with scrumps was 3 pence old money.Just saying.
