Every League One player set to be out-of-contract this summer... https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/league-one-contracts-expiring-7929650
Hull City Reece Burke (option) Jordy De Wijs (option) Brandon Fleming (option) Alfie Jones (option) George Long (option) Josh Magennis (option) Max Clark ---------------------------- Regan Slater (on loan) Dan Crowley (on loan) Gavin Whyte (on loan)
Josh magennis doesn’t know if he will be with us next season!! Where’s the security for him? What if he got injured? Ehab would release him quick as a flash! Why has he been playing out of his skin the last few games and risking getting injured Someone needs to have a word with him Who’s got Eric’s number
That's what I thought. Versus relative stability for us, which is nice for a change, and with a good bunch of lads now. I'd expect we'd be looking to take all those options (and extend) and maybe even take the loanees if the cost is sensible. Then a case of just adding a small handful of quality additions, and hoping the young ones continue their progression.
We seem to have a summer of turmoil & rebuilding every summer for the last 7 years! I would like a nice stable boring summer this year!!
Surely we will take up the option with a couple of those? Not sure I expect any of the loanees to be made permanent if that option was presented to us.
I think De Wijs has already played his last game for us, I don’t think Clark will get signed for any longer. I’ve been impressed by Fleming, when I’ve seen him, but I think he’ll go the same way as Batty unfortunately, although maybe an extra year to see if he can break through. Loanees, Slater & Whyte, if the option & price is there, don’t think Crowley really fits this system, I’d give it 50/50.
Decent shout. That Jorge Grant at Lincoln might step up to the level, though might be injury prone. Also the lad at Donny who knows where the onion bag is. Gerry Yates at blackpool. There's a few possibly worth a punt.
I was hoping we'd go in for Okinebeherie at Donny this season, I really like him. Jerry Yates is also a good shout, but he's on a three year deal with an option that he signed in Summer, so might require a rather large sum, especially if Blackpool win the playoffs. Jorge Grant looked very good too, but he also signed a new contract in January. I don't know what our budget will be next season, but it's probably safe to say it won't be much higher than it was last season.
