No, it's being done to let him in!!
If the Tourism sector is shut over the summer again this country is in serious bother. It accounts for about 10-15% of Turkey's GDP.
They need Chippy to come and drink as much Tuborg and Efes as is humanly possible.
Only his near fatal alcoholism can save us!

So it's OK for Pouchy to make a snap judgement based on available evidence, but not anybody else?

Being just over the limit for drink driving doubles your chance of a potentially deadly accident (source: https://www.hindawi.com/journals/mpe/2014/607652/). Therefore the government restricts your freedom if you make that choice.

Not taking the vaccine doubles your chance of passing on a deadly disease. Therefore...

You're one of THOSE people when it come to discussing the virus aren't you?

I haven't made any snap judgements. I've said I fully support anyone who does not feel a vaccine passport should be required. That is based on the official present position which is they don't know as yet if the vaccine prevents transmission. That may change if official sources and studies show the vaccine prevents transmission.

The BBC man. Its a great headline. I mean did you even bother to read the full article you posted? It clearly states these are early studies and signs are promising but its a small part of a much larger process to determine this. They have to see how it reacts in different settings etc. This is the difference between poor news sources/average journalism, and the official position. They aren't the same thing but the general population sadly relies more on the poor news sources.

I'm sure there is an old analogy about this. Involves a cart and a horse...

Agree with peoples right not to take it but I would take away their national health insurance for anything Covid related and make them pay the 10's of thousands of pounds it costs to get them on the mend again in the event they caught the virus.

    Fixed <whistle>

Also, it tells you right at the bottom of the article, (which I know you read Pouchy) <ok>

The study, which has yet to be fully peer-reviewed,
included more than 57,000 contacts from 24,000 households in which there was a lab-confirmed coronavirus case that had received a vaccination, compared with nearly one million contacts of unvaccinated cases.

We should also do that with anybody who drinks (liver-related diseases) and smokes (any cancer affecting lungs and mouth). Also anybody who has a BMI of over 35 should be forced to lose weight before being allowed any treatment.

The smarter way may be to link the amount of NI paid on a sliding scale based on general health. Scruffy fat bastards who smoke 40 tabs a day and drink a bottle of whiskey a day should pay more (Assuming they have a job) than some virile young yorkshire buck who runs regularly, maintains himself really really well and only occasionally has a few cans on an away day.

It's like with private healthcare.... you get taxed as a BIK..... but there should be a tax break on it as those who have it are taking a burden OFF the NHS.
