Precisely this. A lot of City's wages are paid out of other companies.

You could suggest what you like, only it doesn’t mean it has a jot of credibility.
Outsourcing various aspects of running any business is standard. From cleaners to marketing experts.

There isn’t a separate line on the balance sheet, you surely mean the profit and loss?

The total expenses (excluding player trading / amortisation) of both clubs was virtual identical in the 19/20 accounts.

You're spot on. This is why the wage bill was higher. We have a lot of players on incentivised contracts.

    Just asking like. :)

If there is an operating expense of 20million or whatever under their expenses for paying said sub contractor. Given you've answered that both clubs accounts ended up with a very similar value for expenses then you've kindly answered the question.

Of course outsourcing is a perfectly reasonable and common practice.

My question was if city themselves were repaying it or was some other Etihad inc company paying it. Clearly you've answered with your view on it which logically makes sense as it would ot be the least obvious dodge in the world after all.

iirc they tried at the start of FFP to separate out image rights, but told UEFA that’s what they’d done, and UEFA just added it back in.

My understanding is a lot of players have done image rights deals such that they will go move to a tax friendly country at the end of their careers and collect

For example zlatan goes to the USA. Claims a fortune then comes back to europe.

Ronalso and messi constantly.mention playing a season in usa.

    Gerrard did it

    Etc etc

I wonder how true this is

the bit i highlighted in your post
They were never accused of fiddling stated costs, you should let HMRC know if you believe otherwise.
and my reply showed they had been .

I know HMRC clamped down on the various tax dodge methods of deferring pay to Ltd companies, as per the Rangers debacle. However I’ve no idea on the current rules on proven images rights payments and how they measure or assess it tbh.

I had read something about setting up a company into which it all went until the end of their career. Must look it up.

Its like we picked the absolute worst year to win the title, financially speaking. We've seen none of the rewards that go with it, not been able to capitalise on the success and we've managed to come out worse than we were before.

I really hope fsg aren't pinning our hopes for next season all on VvD coming back into the team. That'd be reckless to say the least.

We won the cl and the title. That's better than under rafa. We ought to really be grateful we got that.

Would love a Leicester style fa Cup run before it all goes tits up. (And Leicester will go all ties up We all know its only a matter of vardy time)

Maybe it already has completely gone tits up, who knows. But each manager since I was a kid except for Hodgson and Rodgers delivered then it went to ****.

Klopp will join Evans, houllier and Rafa on the list now. We cannot compete consistently, not with city, utd and Chelsea money machines. We are only ever one bad slip up from arsenal level issues.

If we build the anfield road end all it does is keep pace with spurs, arsenal, West ham and Everton in terms of grounds and the nature of the prem means there will be 3 or 4 others all capable of challenging top half.

It's about 70 points and we can never ever forget that. 6 losses in a row at anfield cost us that and heads should roll in the dressing room this summer.

how many titles did those managers deliver then? The biggest mistake we made was entering the season with 2 fit CB’s and Matip. Our squad was never as deep as the others. The rest was mostly being unlucky....sh1t happens.

The klopp titles? or the title tile ;)

seriously though Evan delivered one trophy as he tried and failed to undo the damage that sourness had done.

Houiller was a great time, 2001 was mighty and the guy delivered another league cup before he was done.

Rafa's 2005 and 2006 cups were a great start to a journey that G&H ruined.

I did however say above klopp's time has been better than Rafa's Its been a great ride but we also have to see LFC is more than Klopp and will build something against some point. The question i pose is this; Is klopp ruthless enough now to cull the herd or will he be too loyal?

There's more wrong than just the CBs. The Cbs explain the title going unopposed to city who might not even break 90 points but it cannot and does not explain 6 losses in a row at anfield or the inability to finish a chance. My opinion is hunger and fitness explain some of it.

I actually expect us to improve with a full on preseason in us but i don't think it will resolve the hunger issue.

I personally think theres a few guys who get away with it a bit and a few that are up and down. klopp needs to address trent on some level and the lad keeps coming right into the middle of the park and theres then no right side to the pitch. Move the guy if he wants to move, play him in henderson position but it needs addressing.

Mane is an eyesore at LW. his head is gone imo. He is affecting robertson getting on the overlap. jota hasn't shown much in terms of helping robertson but he is quite busy. Can' decide if he would do better at no 9 or lfet side but at least we have him.

Wijnaldum is skating through to leaving. he might as well go and let someone take the role on. put henderson left side for trent or work with jones or buy.

Finally striker. if there was ever a need to buy its here. my god it is desperately needed.

Inject hunger and fitness and we will improve 100%
