It’s the captain to nip that in the bud early doors. The first time he gets clattered the captain should be straight to the ref and say “ keep an eye on this, it will keep happening unless your on it”.

Take the Fabinho assault. It was a dangerous tackle and his eye was on the player only. He didn’t have to go into him so hard it was clear he was getting away with one but hurting him.

Man City do them fouls but they are niggly ones and in the main are not dangerous. Just breaking up play.

And finally him signing a 1 year extension HAS to be seen as great news. Surely?

 

I would argue Bruce should be bringing this up in pre match and post match interviews, but because he's a dinosaur he thinks it's part of the game. The games changed and he's failing to look after the lad.. If Bruce says nothing and the players as you don't go nuts every time he's going to get a broken leg.

Olly Watkins looks good. But yes I’d rather play with Mbappe. But he’s coming to Newcastle and Grealish is staying at Villa.

 

Only issue for me would be that his next move will be to a club in Europe

He wouldn’t have signed a contract extension if he was leaving in the summer. I think we have him for another season at least.
