I just woke up to yet another home loss when we were in control and I am starting to lose my patience with everything Bristol City. This has to be one of the most embarrassing seasons during my following of the team but it really seems to be the only business model available to us and it doesn't look like changing any time soon. A succession of poor managers who never met the mandates set out have led us to this sad place and expecting Pearson to change the habits of a lifetime just isn't going to happen. There will be a lot that will say that NIgel is no better than his predecessors, and the results bear that out, but letting him go only to be replaced by another bargain basement up and comer will surely seal our fate for next season. The decisions made by our senior management over the next few weeks will shape the future of Bristol City for the next 5-10 years and if you want proof then just look back and see where all the corporate dictates and promises made during the previous same time period then you get the idea where that got us. Can Nigel Pearson change our fortunes or is our hope of redemption based on false beliefs of his ability? Perhaps the waffle will return and our fortunes are thrown to the wind but I think having a well seasoned manager on board does give us a better chance of not sinking like a stone but the decisions made by Lansdown and his willingness to support the gigantic effort needed to improve our lot will show the supporters in no uncertain way that we mean business. I also think that Steve Lansdown has not only lost the plot but also his ambition to further fund a club that has never come up to his supposed criteria, but then again he has no-one else to blame for this ongoing and continual mess but himself. Will we ever find the question yet alone the answer?
Don't be silly now, I don't even know the man, I wish him all the best for the future and a good life.
Because some people have a vivid imagination and believe that in every post criticising our present poor squad is a dig at LJ, when in fact he was actually a victim as well.
Well said Ashton and we need to put all the past firmly behind us and move on as best we can with whatever we have available. Years of neglect rarely have good outcomes and our current situation is testimony to that credo. Like everyone else on this site I want Bristol City to be a challenger but given our less than stellar history I really wonder how that can be achieved. Hire Pearson now and let him do his best to move us upwards because if we go on our usual waffling mediocre approach we could be doomed. What do we want - action? When do we want it - now!
Because incredibly according to some people he’s still responsible for poor performances. This is because (according to some) when he was sacked he’d singlehandedly purged the squad of any decent players and replaced them with idiots who can’t or won’t play. He also planted ‘agent Holden’ to carry on his dirty work, thus sabotaging the January window with some poor buys, directing from afar. Now he’s going to be blamed when we don’t strengthen, because he blew the budget and there’s no more money left for players for sir Nigel to buy. Poor old Nigel hasn’t a chance - LJ fked it up for him. He will still be talked about in 2 seasons time if we haven’t romped the league.
Johnson was a very lucky 'victim' who's father gave him a contract he never deserved. As a HC he's been lucky 'victim' overseeing 2 successful signings out of 65. The only victim in all this is BCFC.
WELL went for my walk left house at 1400hrs with 2-0 on the board got back at 1815 to find out lost 2 -3 will take a peek to see what happened did we get 2 sent off or something
Nurtured and coached to gain £22 million for one player, easy record breaking.....nothing lucky about that RP....and yes BCFC was a victim or shall we say a beneficiary of such a return........amongst other key players sold on unfortunately not replaced with the same quality and probably was never offered to him....trying to replicate the likes of Southampton.....bring them in on the cheap and sell them on for profit......forgetting what's left to use on the pitch!! Not sure if even NP can work with that logic
......and the other 63 ? Player transfer has been the massive failure in LJ's tenure. Your opinion is irrelevant. The only relevance in all this is Mark Ashton's statement on BCFC transfers, IN and OUT, 'Lee Johnson had the final say on all transfers'.
And you believe what Ashton says..the guy that's turned his back on us and on his way to Ipshit? Player transfers in LJ's tenure regarding the clubs finances had been a complete success...just to add context
Context is the squad he left. We are arguably the currently worst side in the Championship Your opinion is not context, it's irrelevant.
Sort of but he brought in some who can play but cant because they were made of glass. you are one Nathan Baker. sure with all the in depth scouting LJ banged on about getting players with the right dna for project busy bees much much better could have been done. LJ left a right ****ing mess.
