It has been a real delight today to be online with ex players Stan McEwan, John Hawley and Justin Whittle sharing the emotions of the game.
Me and you were there, how I wish I'd have been there today. Met a load of young lads on Beverley railway station an hour ago singing 'City are going up', which was nice. I'll break the news, no open top bus tour, the council have knocked it back..
Couldn’t we have them on the balcony on city hall and we’re all in Vicky square?? And call it Black n amber lives matter??
Got to say I’ve enjoyed this season so much especially after the last, the team to come back at first time of asking have been fantastic, we could have been stuck in this league for years like some of the others,. It’s never easy when you come down and especially losing that many games like we did to come back at the first time of asking is a great turn around. We had to dig in at times today which we did but not just today the last two months we have had a fantastic run just at the right time. Going to start on the beer celebration now so if I post anything later and it looks like Chinese then the beers working. UTT
Well Grant has proved me wrong so thank you and congratulations to you and the lads. I couldn't watch the last minutes through nerves so missed the promotion goal. Happy birthday Tigress, have a really great celebration
Did COVID19 restrictions knock back the BLM demonstrations in Queens Gardens at a time when Hull had the highest Covid figures in the country ?
Well ... I am thrilled and delighted. I was watching City pre 1966. That promotion seemed inevitable. This one didn't look likely at the start of the season. I could not see why McCann was still in a job but clearly there was something else going on. Perhaps I couldn't see what McCann calls the bigger picture. I had no hopes of anything above mid-table but after I watched the first game at Gillingham, I began to change my mind. We were just so much better than them. As the season went on, I became convinced we had the ability to go up but I wasn't sure we would. The recent run has been quite outstanding at just the right time. McCann has gone a long way to making up for last season. It will be interesting to see how well he adapts to the Championship. He certainly deserves the chance to have a go. Well done to him, the coaching staff and the players. They have made an old man very happy but enough about Barchullona!
Once upon a time only got lively in Lincoln when the students arrived back ... when I first lived there there were more ‘twin set and pearls’ shops than pubs open after 9.30pm
