    I concur.
The season that we went up and released Iwan really pissed me off same with releasing Holt.

It's good to have these big characters around especially as most of our younger talent will be looking for guidance.

Great so, Do we keep a wealthy ex player happy by parachuting him into a coaching role way above his level of skill, just because we can't bare to let him go. What message does that send to our professional coaches at the club that would have been developing their coaching skills over many, many years. Coaching is a key professional role that requires a wide range of skills that can only be developed through learning and coaching experience. Footballing ability and experience of playing football at a professional level, are not even on the list of the key skills required of a top coach. Now if he had a psychology degree that would be more useful.

I would add being a nice club, has dropped us well & truly in the Sh1t in the past

But in order to get those players in, someone had to be release and it's not as though we don't have plenty of other big characters around to fulfil that role.

Tettey has had 4 starts and 12 sub appearances this season, which is a reasonable number given that Skipp has played in every game (once as sub). My question is about what happens if a new DM brought in doesn't succeed, given what happened with Amadou last year.

He's our longest serving player by some years and it would be good to have him around the place like Huckerby Adams Gunn etc .

He may want to return to Norway

It seems to me that Sorensen & Rupp are preferred over Tettey. As a club our days of putting sentiment ahead of the team's development are over. Tettey adds nothing to the party that other don't bring, Vrancic on the other hand possibly does.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one canario. I don't see Rupp as a DM option, especially in the PL, whereas Tettey is proven in that role. We can still bring in another DM, but should bear in mind what happened with Amadou.

Maybe proven in the past, but not in recent history.

Agreed - Selling Mackay too wasn't smart

I would probably keep Zimmermann and maybe Stiepermann unless there are decent offers for them

If Tettey wants to stay in Norfolk and get involved in coaching and has shown aptitude there then he should have that role. As much as I like him I think his playing days for us are over. Maybe he can go and play for Kings Lynn and help our lads on loan there as a link back to Norwich (but then again I have a soft spot for Lynn!).

Vrancic and Klose - thank you for your service and enjoy your next adventure.

I'd also keep McGovern on a 1 year contract for an option of another season if he has recovered from his injury because I have no idea about Nyland

Then get in some corona bargains to refill our yoof and then first team we realistically need- 1/2 CB, 1RB, 1DM 1AM-LRC and maybe a keeper so we can send Barden on loan. I think McCallum having proved himself in the championship has earned a place as backup to Giannoulis

That thought passed through my mind. We need another quality CB, but I hope we keep Famewo and/or Omobamidele as a 5th CB option as injury cover and to allow a 3 at the back formation for difficult games. We need to move beyond makeshift CBs in the PL, learning from the injury experience of last year. This is a real test for both SW and DF.

I agree we need another CB, don't know much about the Celtic guy. I would prefer it if Omobamidele went out on loan to a Championship team, because I think in terms of his development he will get much more out of a loan than being our 4th / 5th choice CB.

Tettey, despite his age, doesn’t get injured often. The same cannot be said for most of our imported chums from Allemagne. I’d like to think he would be involved at the club in some position but not in the first team squad. He’s certainly an ambassador for the club and could help in recruiting talent from Europe (although that could be more limited now we are out of the EU).

I voted Hanley as well. Pukki, Buendia and Aarons have been great but Grant has had a really exceptional and consistently high level of performance all season.

Voted for Hanley also, though because of my location may not be allowed.

Voting ends tomorrow, so look sharp!

It’s also time for supporters to vote for their next winner of the Barry Butler Memorial Trophy. The recipient of the award will follow in the footsteps of previous winners like Duncan Forbes, Martin Peters, Bryan Gunn, Darren Huckerby, Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan.

All players that have made a first-team appearance in the 2020-21 season are included in the voting.

Voting closes on midnight on Sunday, April 25.
