Anyone who thought that Nigel Pearson would bring new belief to the minds of the players and supporters appear to have their hopes vanishing in front of their eyes. The experience he brought to the table was real and tangible based on his previous outings at Watford and Leicester and yet he can't get anything out of the deadweight that make up our squad. A lot us have said many times that certain players should have been sent packing while we could still get five bob for them, but no we continued with the same stupidity and look where we are now.

Quite frankly I fear what our next move may be and a return to the apathetic status quo won't do it for me and many others and I just can't see a clear way out of this continual guesswork followed by wrong answers. Pearson may have lost his mojo with this lot and decide to look elsewhere or that decision could be made by SL based on the lack of any progress under his newly appointed manager. The usual lack of communication is not helping the situation and at some time in the next few weeks someone needs to get their head out of the sand and wake up to this nightmare that has been 8-10 years in the making and will take better expertise than we have on board to fix.

Being one of those people who wanted Pearson brings me no consolation but it's time for me to recognize that he either can't work with what we have or even worse that he doesn't want the gig. The players should be ashamed of their lack of contribution and attitude because behind it all they are the main reason we are here.

    What the hell is next?

If we struggle again next season, after 2 clear transfer windows since LJ to fix the problems and MA gone, then it will really confuse things.

Where is the leadership for us? Act now or forever lose the plot.

Not really, it’s going to take a while to sort out the mess they made IMO

    I agree Ashton.
And will Pearson/whoever get the same backing. I don't think so.
We had our chance pre the appointment of LJ, that was the massive mistake, employing a rookie.
Can't see anything other than mid table mediocrity for next season - at best.

How sad it is that after years of mediocrity and not knowing who we want to be and here we are at a place that should never have happened. Years of neglect to the job at hand and looking the other way has created a feeling of doom and gloom that may hang around for some time to come and good luck to our new manager sorting out the mess created by apathy and refusing to listen to the supporters murmurs. Prepare for the worst and hope for something different.

You don't see a better return from who ever is appointed compared to LJ's seasons......must show he's not as bad as you make out then :emoticon-0103-cool:

Bitterness is never a good trait to have!
When you ok at the past 13 months Covid has been a really evil virus to almost everthing. Social domestic and pleasure, quoting my car insurance! Lee Johnson being replaced in hindsight, was a 2 edged sword. Could it be possible that with Lee in charge we may have just managed to finish this season in top 6? or gotten to the same point as Dean and been replaced. I personally do not believe we would be as low down the table as now, although hindsight is a tricky customer to rationalise with, injuries and the condensed season of fixtures are factors that have had numerous twists and turns. No crowds, breaks for covid infections, injuries etc our wonderful game has never and probably will never see the likes again.
Our pain will last just another 3 games... then a new broom will sweep away the horrors of the past 13 months and a nice new floor will appear when the dust has gone.
