I nearly put a car in the Grand Union canal at the Fisheries Inn in Harefield
It was a very steep hill and a sharp right hand turn into the hump back bridge, just like a scene from the Dukes of Hazard

    Jesus Christ lads.

The only, minor compared, thing I can rememer is that my old man bought a car to sell off straight away and it was written off beyond repair on the majic roundabout in Hemmel. He wasn´t impressed. I was too yound to remember why, but I remember him holding me saying that nada mas amttered as I was ok.

I no doubt the muppet (dad) was speeding.

On a recent trip to Sainsburys, on an otherwise empty road was an unattended HGV trailer with its ramps down... It took every bit of maturity I had (and I had to scrape around to find some, believe me) to avoid a mid-air YYEEEE-HHAAAAAA moment. :(

I prefer the local explanation - that it's an alien refueling ship.

I have to disagree with the quoted expert though - he claims it can be seen very rarely in the UK, but it's a very common sight up here. I'll have to fire up an old laptop - am sure I have a video of it happening.

This popped up in Twitter - giving a different explanation, one which I think is accurate. When I've seen them up here, they're closer to shore and it's quite obvious what's going on.
