Sorry but a 50-60%fit Denver Hume has to be recalled to replace McFadzean who is becoming more and more of a liability as the the season comes to a conclusion . The scouts who come to watch us prior to playing us must think HE is the weakness in the SAFC team and target him virtually every game and he always seems to oblige by showing them to be right . It would be interesting to know exactly how many goals can be traced back to his involvement or should that be lack of involvement in the lead up to us conceding goals - I could be wrong but a lot of the goals conceded seem to come from his area of the pitch or is it just me .

Maybe LJ is managing Hume back into the side so that he is fully ready for the playoffs.
He would have liked to do that with Wright I reckon.
Using these next few games to get him play off ready might turn out to be better than putting him in for 90 minutes every game.
Look at Wright. He’s not quite right yet and would have benefitted from a gradual return rather than full games.

    or maybe not.

As for Macfaj. He could still be used in McGeady’s position on the LW as he’s ok there.

Unless the daft knacker gets it into his head to help out in defence coz this attack is looking dangerous...

Next game I reckon. I'm struggling to think of anything that McFadzean has over Hume other than match fitness and there's only one way to get that.

I suspect it's a case of him being eased back in after a long lay off rather than Johnson thinking McFadzean is mint for some inexplicable reason.

I find it totally and utterly incredible that somebody watched this lad (McFadzean) play and thought that he would be a good signing. Typical of the Donald / Methven era that one. Basically they gambled on Hume being fit for the whole season and it’s well and truly bit the club on the arse. The bloke isn’t even League 2 standard.

So many of the players signed under those clowns have been found embarrassingly wanting. The likes of Baldwin, Burge, Matthews, McFadzean, Scowen etc... have proved to be a hindrance in getting promoted rather than a help.

Makes you wonder how bad that lad from Southampton must have been. He can't even get on the bench.

I have lost faith in LJ through this fiasco with McFuz, after his debut in which he looked promising he has been a laughing stock if it wasnt so serious he is costing us any chance of promotion imo. If we played to our strengths with a back 3 we could overcome any necessity for Fuz. Olly Younger and O/9 covering for the absent players at the back would be fine, and our midfield 4 could be the ace in the pack if used properly.
And while I am on I would also use AoB, up front as he gives us far more movement than Wyke, one goal in the last 8 games suggests to me he needs a rest. Not the continuous chopping and changing of the rest of the team tby LJ to try and provide him with open goals and tap ins.

I think McFadz has been playing as we don't have anyone else, rather then Johnson having some kind of blind spot. Vokins got nailed with Covid and Denver is just coming back from a lengthy lay off. Add in we're already bring Bailey in who is himself getting back up to speed and I can see why McFadz gets the nod. Hopefuly, it will only be for the next game or so and Denver wil be fit enough to start.

LJ was playing golf at Ramside yesterday.

One of my playing partners today saw him there at the coffee/food stall and had a chat. Les is a lifelong Sunderland fan. Les noticed LJ had one of those fancy golf trolleys that automatically follow you around. After a brief chat with LJ, Les's parting remark was, it was a pity that Sunderland did not have a LB that could stick to his winger, as LJs trolley did to him!
