Personally I want the club owners punished a personal fine would not work because they would find a way of putting it through the clubs books, but the question has to be asked “are the owners of the top 6 scumbags fit and proper persons to run a football club in England.” In other words they should be booted out

In January this lot of greedy twots tried to do the same thing and Parag Maratha was over here at the same time to sign contracts for purchasing another £23m worth of shares. He gave an interview to Ornstein and Chapman and said the difference between Fenway Sports and 49ers was tone wanted to rape and pillage and one wanted sustainable investments. Parag said they bought into Leeds because of its history, its fanbase, the beauty of English football. He added that he understood you had to invest in the local and do the International as a separate thing. Fenway just want International and cash now. I trust them :emoticon-0148-yes:

These are teams who have been deducted points since 2004 due to the actions and owners and boards. I would wager a guess that none of the owners/board members who caused these deductions remained with the club very long after. So who was punished? The fans.

The clubs above were punished for getting their clubs into unmanageable debt. 90% of the clubs involved in the Super League are heavily in debt. They tried to pull up the drawbridge of every other team in Europe to save themselves. This act would probably have ended with a lot more clubs than this list getting into deep financial problems.

But we should not punish "the snake oil six" because some scousers came to Ellan Rd on Monday with banners or Chelsea fans had a cry in front of their stadium or @mufcfan5154894858 tweeted "Im never spending another penny on my club after this"!

Throw the book at them. Make an example of these six. If they do not then we will see this scenario come back in a couple of years. If their fans were incensed as they all claimed to be then they should be willing to accept their punishment. Much as the fans of the listed clubs had to.

Without going into it too much this weekends debate is going to be about ESL and the greedy twots involved and why they did it.

One thing I will say is that there does need to be a punishment, but dont think there will be. But all clubs in the prem should be forced to sign an addendum to their existing contract which clearly states that any club who brings the Premier League into disrepute by doing underhand negotiations with other entities that would impact the Premier League will be forced to pay a binding fine of no less than £300m or be forced out of business until such a time as the fine can be paid

I fully understand this but if the fans of the affected clubs listed “had to” accept their punishment, I don’t see why their fans should be or our fans were “willing” to accept their punishment? Also, according to a sports lawyer on talkSPORT today, there is a process to apply to UEFA to do this. Maybe they were testing the water? I still don’t see how it’s the supporters or the players fault.

These clubs were involved in the January coup too where they tried to include more clubs in to a special PL group. The whole point of that was to secure the fact that if the 'big 6' voted for something in the PL then they would hold the majority. They obviously had this on the planning table at that time. They have been dodgy as **** and all this whilst furloughing staff (or attempting to) and in the middle of a pandemic.

**** em. Ban the owners. Ban the clubs from Europe. Give them point deductions. Fine them heavily. These clubs shouldn't even sit at the table anymore when decisions are being made. Remove any power they have and distribute it through the pyramid.

If they are not punished they will be back again in a few months with an amended version. They have already hinted at that. They have to be stopped whilst they are in a weak position.

That's pretty much in place now, Doc. Clubs are forbidden to enter any other competition whilst part of the EPL. I'm guessing that permission can be granted - for example, for a 4-team pre-season tourney in Hong Kong that presents a cup to the winners, or whatever.

There MUST be a punishment. I was joking when I suggested a 50 point deduction for 2 consecutive seasons. On reflection, I think I was wrong. They should be eliminated from the EPL & if the EFL is nice to them, they may get back in to L2, to fill the spots vacated by all of the promotions. Rangers suffered that punishment in Scotland (for a different reason), but what most people don't know is that UEFA had already taken away their licence to play in Europe because they failed to post their accounts on time! So it might be UEFA AND the FA that takes action. Hopefully both.

Perhaps Ringo is right that we should simply ban all of them from playing in Europe for 5 years or so. I'd choke on the opportunity lost to punish & punish hard, but would accept Ringo's plan as a compromise.

These clubs.... sorry...these ****ing greedy bastards have already got the Champions League wrapped up as it is under the new system. I read today that the new Champions league in 2023 (I think) is loaded for these so called 'big 12' and the rest. The example they gave was that if the PL finished as it is with West Ham in 4th and Liverpool in 5th then West Ham would be in the Europa league whilst Liverpool would be in the Champions league. That's because Liverpool have more historical relevance in the last few years.

These clubs have already been doing this by stealth anyway. It's about time the other clubs capitalised on the position these ****ers find themselves in. Get some size 9 boots on their necks and keep them in their place whilst they are down. **** em. Give their money to league 1 and 2 clubs (and the rest) to see them through this pandemic.

    Taken from BBC website.

    The 'new' Champions League
Amid the back-slapping from those who feel the big clubs have been stopped in their tracks, it is worth remembering there were a couple of major changes to the Champions League from 2024 agreed by Uefa this week that will work in favour of the established elite.

Firstly, the tournament itself will be expanded by four teams.

One of these slots will go to the third-placed team in the fifth-ranked league in Uefa's list - currently France.

Two will go to the sides with the highest club co-efficient who are in European slots but fail to qualify for the Champions League, regardless of where they finish in their domestic leagues.

If the system was in operation now, Borussia Dortmund would get a 'wild card' and so would Liverpool, even though they are behind West Ham in the Premier League. West Ham would go into the Europa League.

Secondly, instead of eight groups of four, as we have now, the 36 teams will be ranked according to their results in 10 games against individual opponents of different strengths.

The top eight clubs go straight into the last 16, the teams ranked nine to 24 enter a two-legged play-off.

This system should provide a greater number of 'quality' matches. It will certainty create a greater number of matches as teams will play as many as 19 games to reach the final, rather than 13 in the present format.
