Beggars belief how often we give possession away in our own half.

In much the same way as there is a chance of winning the lottery jackpot.

    Is Downes the new Skuse?

He has consistently played the square pass in the final third and not taken the responsibility of trying to find the forwards.

How much pressure will be put on Cook now, people will deffo be calling for his head. I most certainly am not one of them, he has to be given a chance with the new owners, he won't piss around, he will quickly start wielding the axe!!

To be honest it's probably a better thing than just missing out on the play offs because Cook can now look to next season.

This is so much worse than the Hurst situation was and plenty of people were calling for his head three matches in.

Creating chances, and having the majority of possession doesn't mean a bloody thing if you don't outscore the opposition not a thing just meaningless claptrap, SD informs me we haven't scored a solitary goal since April 2nd, absolutely shameful at 3rd division standard.

Nope, clearly not good enough again.

We had some patterns of play, kept possession for periods and got some crosses in, albeit many of them were poor. Hit the bar and post a couple of times but that's just the luck we're having.

We were defensively soft with two goals coming from corners that should have been defended much better. We played a bit more long ball when Jackson was on and then strangely went to almost exclusively playing out from the back when Hawkins was up front. Too many short corners and free kicks that just ended up without the ball getting into the box were chances wasted.

Holy has recently developed an urge to rush every ball within a 1/4 mile of his box and it was only a matter of time before there was a goal scored in an empty net. Downes made most of his passes sideways to Dozzell even though there were opportunities for him to drive into space or try a through ball. Bennetts took players on, as did Dobra. Ward was solid and saved a certain goal with a great block.

I can understand fans turning on Cook already, it's hard not to because we have been poor. I think I'll just write this season off, give Cook a free hit and see what the summer brings. He hasn't helped himself with the players with his recent comments although he was being diplomatic and protecting them at the start so who is to blame for him finally cracking? He won't have long to get it right next season if we don't finish off looking better than we did today

It could be that Cook is pissed off that we won't get promoted this season. He misses a chance to spend the new owners money on players for a Championship campaign rather than having to build a team to get out of League One and then have to revamp it on promotion.

All could have been very different had that Edwards effort been an inch to the left.

529 minutes (not including added on time) since our last goal.
    In our last 7 games, we have failed to score against;
    Northampton
    Wimbledon
    Charlton
    MK Dons
    Rochdale
    Wigan

Just wow...how f'king bad are we???

    Forgot about the game tonight.
    But just saw the score.
Wow, just wow. Our ability to get incrementally more terrible every year and every change of manager is nothing if not impressive.

Why wasnt Toto playing? He would have snuffed out those 2 earlier goals. Hitting the bar & post early on just our luck, but when youre in a downward spiral to mid table ignomy, lady luck doesnt smile on you.

If one of the close shots had gone in, we might still be a hairs breadth away.

Cook knows the task ahead. He"s not won his present players hearts & minds which I think has been his undoing.

Lets forget this wretched season, and see all those promised changes bear fruit by September.

Chaps I can’t see us winning again this season. We’re in free fall. The manager has openly said he doesn’t trust the players. It’s a total nut house. Only in football! We’ve pressed self destruct like Newcastle contrive to do!

I disagree with playing the youngster now, I mean that's what's got us into this situation in the first place trying to put too many inexperienced players into the first team all at once. We had 3 academy players in the spine of our team today and someone else's. We don't want to ruin more players confidence, Cook has already added to that.

I'd say chuck as many senior pros into the team as possible to take the brunt and leave the young players who have potential to have good careers in the game out.

Much better post match today, shame that the damage had already been done.
