Shanks' memory will live on long after the current owners have turned to dust. His statue should stay there as a constant reminder of who he was and what he did for a great club. And if the current ones do succeed in ****ing it up its presence will remain a poignant, and pertinent reminder.

No one can argue that these 12 (plus the other 3) do most of the work for the rest of the clubs across Europe (and probably the world). So I can understand that they feel Uefa and Fifa are treating them like a cash cow whilst expecting them to foot the bill and they now want to make their own rules. But there are certain principles that should never be dropped and one of those is denying hard work and earning stuff on merit.

That is my biggest point and why it infuriates me when the likes of Neville are calling for the clubs to be relegated. The manager, players and fans don't deserve that. Neither did they deserve to be abused at Leeds last night. Jordan Henderson is showing himself to be a real leader once again.
