Nobody but China will be watching it at the start then when they realise their favourite club isn't in (and never will be) the CL they will move on to other clubs
i reckon that green is pretty strong bro if you forgot the Toon armies exploits in Europe easily done mate no worries
If the Germans were involved i think it would be a worthy watch but as it stands, the English sides, Spanish and Italians? FFS they're the worst watches in the Champions League. Real Madrid and Athletico are horrible teams
you’ll be gassing about it on here more than anyone I bet you be following the English sides like everyone else on here as soon as one of them loses you’ll all go full broke back mountain on the matchday thread guaranteed
3 posts up you said you don’t watch the CL and now you know everything about it Post #645 I’m talkin bowt you
There’s plenty of traditional big clubs currently sat in the Lower leagues. Leeds have come back from a 2 decade absence and not looked out of place this season. Lesta arrived via L1 and won the ****er at the 2nd attempt. Clubs like Forest, Sunderland, Pompey, Boro, Sheff Weds, Derby, QPR, Stoke, Blackburn, Charlton, Ipswich and Coventry have all been PL clubs and successful top flight sides before the Sky era. Of course losing United, City and the RS weakens the league, but if they choose this path it’ll be their choice. The league will readjust in the first few years and carry on. Whilst the exiles eventually beg to come back when their product gets pirated to **** and doesn’t provide the promised land they desired. It’d be great to watch them slowly come back through the leagues tbh.
I think this is a good shout tbf, I think Nottingham Forest are the most poignant example. "We've got the whole world, in our hands" was their motto during the glory years. Now they've got Chris Hughton and a 2-0 home defeat to Huddersfield.
There's also smaller clubs who can make it to the top flight, like my own and the likes of Blackpool. That's the beauty of the pyramid and promotion/relegation. One of our players captained us from League 2 to the Premier League. The fact 12 clubs are spitting on the history of football in their respective countries for even more money is just sickening, not just for their fans but all fans.
My opinion is get these clubs removed permanently and never let them back in.. It'll be their format that fails not ours
Where does this 350m sit with regards to FFP. It’s not earned money it’s a donation? Or something else? Given the context of that cash input it creates a massive unfair advantage. So for this reason would all these clubs fall foul of the FFP regulations?
I can only guess but I'd say they'll have their own rules and 2 teams to suit and if it's run by Yanks they will have quarters to get more ads in.
This is not aimed at anyone on here but I’m actually finding all the hypocrisy and crocodile tears amusing if I’m honest. The PL along with SKY shafted the rest of the football pyramid years ago. Having it now done to them seems like karma. My sympathies lies with clubs like Dover Athletic, who have been fined £40k and deducted 12 points for refusing to take loans or become insolvent just to fulfil fixtures during a pandemic. Didn't see any outpouring of disgust at that decision from the wider football community. Unfortunately, neither the “revamped” UEFA champions league or this new ESL helps anyone outside of the elite and any extra revenue generated won’t trickle down to the lower leagues. If, in 6 months time, the ESL idea has been binned, the PL / SKY/ UEFA and even FIFA will revert back to type. The elite clubs will probably get an uplift from TV revenues, whilst the rest of the football pyramid will go back to being insignificant.
So they leave the PL? Or they stay and what then, they play the reserves? Having thought it through these teams must have traded off the possibility of them being booted out. Which I don’t think they will but it completely renders the competition pointless.
We got some prawn sarnie types as well mind so you won't be out of place on the pop and crisps away trips.....quizzes raffles the whole entertainment package.
If FIFA and UEFA ban them then they can do what they like, who do they have to answer to?I can see performance enhancing drugs becoming prevalent similar to American sports, allegedly.BTW They can have 2 teams, one for the PL and one for the ESL,lets face it we're not that far off it already.
