Only four of the clubs are American owned Us, Man U, AC Milan and Arsenal Whats the excuse for the rest?
I don't really know how to feel tbh. I'm not happy about it but I can't help but feel that we kind of asked for this when we sold the club off back in 2007. Back then we couldn't realistically compete financially with Man utd and Chelsea. Without the current owners we wouldn't have gone on to win a CL and PL in the current era,and yet this was always going to be a possibility when you take club ownership away from the club's roots.
They've also made losses though, and the football hasn't been great. But I think medium-long term it won't be necessarily. And you'd get enough tourists in every match anyway.
Klopp played the "I've been focusing on the football match" angle. He had a bit of a moan about fans putting banners up at Anfield and Leeds players wearing t-shirts. Seemed to think they were aimed at everyone at Liverpool rather than just the owners
You can't blame them tbf. The players and managers are going to unfairly take the brunt of this until the owners all bother to make a statement on this.
Tbf he said his opinion hasn't changed as quoted back at him and he can't agree with lack of competition. Referenced the idea that West Ham could earn CL spot as a good thing (in general not at our expense lol) Did he say someone stuck one of those Earn It tshirts in their changing room? If so that's out of order.... I can only believe him like Tuchel knew feck all about this like the players...
"My feelings didn't change. My opinion didn't change [from when he has criticised Super League suggestions in the past]. I heard for the first time about it yesterday. I was trying to prepare for a difficult game. "We got some information, not a lot. Most of the things in the newspapers. It's a tough one. People are not happy with it, I can understand it. I can't say a lot more because we were not involved in the process - not the players, not me - we didn't know about it. We will have to wait how it develops." "I'm 53. Since I've been in professional football, the Champions League has been there. My aim was always to coach a team there. I have no issues with the Champions League. "I like the competitive aspect of football. I like that West Ham might play in the Champions League. I don't want them to because we want to but I like they have the chance. What can I say? It's not easy. "What I want to say as well, I've heard a few things but what I really don't like, Liverpool football club is much more than some decisions. The most important part of football are the supporters and the team. We have to make sure nothing gets between that. I've heard there are banners but the players didn't do anything wrong. We have to all stick together. We can show nobody has to walk alone in these moments. There are things to sort but nothing to do with the football or the relationship between the supporters and the team. "In tough times you have to show you stick together. It doesn't mean you have to agree with everything but again the boys did nothing wrong. I want to make sure everyone knows that. "I understand it. I am in a different position. I don't have all informations. I don't know exactly why the 12 clubs did it. I know some things will change with football in the future. Some things have to change in football that is for sure. "Usually you have to prepare these kinds of things, it takes time."
Yup. Putting it into the changing room totally out of order. Wasn’t the players or managers that put forward this suggestion. if you want to make a point, send the t shirt to the owners.
has everyone see the numbers at stake? Each participating club in the European Super League will receive 3.5 billion euros to start with, with American bank JP Morgan heading up the financial backing of the project. The club that wins the European Super League could be due close to 400 million euros, compared to the 120 million euros that is given out to the Champions League winners each year. Barcelona, who reached the semi-finals in 2019, received 117 million euros in prize money. As for the rest of the 1.95 billion euros in the European Super League, 488 million (25 percent) will be handed out in initial payments and another 585 million based on results. Another 30 percent of payments will go based on a club's coefficient achieved over the past 10 years. That leaves 292 million euros (15 percent) dished out in add-ons. These figures haven't been confirmed by the European Super League, but they almost triple those currently earned by clubs in the Champions League. to **** off you get 3.5billion between the 15. day 1. = 233 million euros day Each year you get 130million even if you are bottom of the table as a "founder" thats more than winning the CL and then off you go and win it and you get over 200mil. not too bad eh? we took 170mil when we won the title. spurs got 19mil less for behind 6th. Of course they want to have both the domestic and super league money
think I saw a breakdown that 8 or so got 300m, a few more get 250m and couple get 150m or something along those lines
They’re providing 3.5bn to the clubs to be split out. Just poorly worded but if you read whole post it clearly states it’s between the 15
thats what the article says, I think it means there's 3.5 billion bribe money put up and i believe man utd and LFC are getting 300mil and the rest 200mil.
