European Super League bollox on the cards again as so-called biggest teams have an offer on the table of billions from Goldman Sachs. Every European league condemning it, but as I have said before, why do so many clubs in the UK have USA owners and shareholders, why do you think 49ers are involved with Leeds and the guy who arranged a wage cap for the NFL is our Director and he’s also involved in TV rights as they want their own tv deals
So do 9 teams go up from the championship? As it stands our mates from Bermondsey will be celebrating
At this moment in time no, because they aren't quitting their respective leagues. They are just forming a new midweek tournament in place of the champions league. Where that leaves European qualification who knows.
OK, I thought they were going to get kicked out of their respective leagues. Anyway this will get messy, all started with the champions league, when in order to be in you could have finished 4 th.
All based on “Coefficient” which means the success of a countries clubs in European tournaments. This season again we have 2 clubs in the semi finals of each cup, so our clubs deserve it. Germany have no clubs left....... but another reason is viewers and the UK telly is the most popular. Notice 6 clubs from England chosen 3 from Spain and 3 from Italy so far and say another 6 will be invited from I suppose Germany, France. this is all about getting their way with the new Champions League format until they want to change something else and will then resurrect it all over again
UEFA, PL, Serie A, La Liga have all said that clubs that join this league WILL be banned from competing in any other domestic competition (that would be PL, League Cup, FA Cup in England) and players who play in that competition COULD be banned from International football (World cups, European championships). That was in their retaliatory statement as a group. Hopefully they mean it. Let them go. Never let them back. Isolate them and let them play their American franchise league.
It will never happen, just declare any players taking part cannot be selected for Internationals, kick them out of their leagues, if they want to come back they start at the bottom tier. No way could the six English teams survive without PL money and the likes of Sky can’t pump the same money into a SL as only 6 set of fans in the UK would be interested. This is a renegotiation exercise probably lead by Barcelona and Real Madrid said to be approaching 1billion of debt as neither restructured players wages with Covid
Ristac Dont underestimate the damage done in Italy too as Juventus and the Milan clubs are also skint. Agneli is also at the top of the list of names and was one of the main driving forces behind it Agneli is backed by his own families billions along with Gazedis from Arsenal....... be interesting to see how Real Madrid and Barcelona fans react, because these clubs are fan owned andif you own a share you are part owner and nothing happens without a vote
If these clubs leave - and frankly, I hope they do - don't they have to renegotiate every single contract they have, including players?
Its already started, young 18yo Connor Teale has left the club and joined Fleetwood on a contract until 2023. Connor was a regular for the U18s and played in the recent FA Youth Cup, but didnt quite make it into the U23s. At least he’ll have Grayson as his first pro club manager, good luck Connor
Sorry, got confused by the gang of six having youth players leave if they joined the super league. My bad that I don’t know this player.
