Oh, no - I meant there's no way Leicester/Everton are getting invited!

This ESL is happening. Hell, it's already happened, starts in August, the money has been allocated pending the final list being drawn up but all 15 of the first clubs share $4.7bn.

The founder clubs directors have all resigned from the ECA, meaning the Champions League next season cannot have 20 clubs in it!! It's mental!! That means the placing in this years top flights are irrelevant and is why all those clubs should be docked something like 100 points each with relegation changed from 3 to 6 clubs. All of their owners should have their licences revoked for failing the O&D test.

And they've done all this behind everyone's back, during a pandemic. It's crazy! How are fans going to spend that much money getting around Europe all season?! who's going to spend money to watch Spurs vs Atletico when there's absolutely **** all to play for?!

I mean, criticism for this is absolutely, utterly universal. It's quite possibly the worst decision ever made in the history of football. And UEFA/PL all brought this on themselves by feeding the greed and constantly driving a wedge between clubs. All the FA's have let this happen, so it's a bit pathetic they're all crying about it now.

Clearly sacked over the ESL - No way you sack a manager who's about to play a final and still in with a chance of making the top 4.

Jose In with the Saudi's please

Quote from Pep, June 2019: "I do not agree with the Super League idea. It will kill the leagues. If Barcelona and Real Madrid go, who will follow the Spanish league? In England they are very intelligent, the grounds of the fourth division are full. They will not let local football die."

No, they weren't. They were invited to a Premier League power shift.

I'm not sure he's aware they aren't going to leave their domestic leagues

But how can you stay in a domestic league, when there's no point? The PL becomes effectively a League Cup to these teams, meaningless match practice. You cannot allow that, by letting any of them stay you damage the integrity of the entire sport, from jumpers for goalposts to the UCL. They MUST be kicked out to start their franchise - the rest of football then kind of acts like the US collegiate.

In the US, the college system is where real fans are. They are geographically based, have loyal fan bases and are really well followed. The NFL is just a franchise system, there's no loyalty. The Raiders have been in Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas in the last 20 years. They've won **** all, perennial under-achievers. But they're super rich, make lots of money and are never under threat of relegation only the promise of winning something. That's all that matters.

Let them have this franchise, I say. Get rid, and let football be reborn. They'll even go into a draft pick system, where they take turns on transfers from the European Leagues.

They still compete for the trophies just like they do now.. They still win everything they just don't have the unconvienience of other clubs bothering to try and they can remove the fear of big takeovers of clubs like nufc forever.

It's really quite simple... The premier league is sold to fans outside the UK to fans that support the big 6, so the opinions of fans and the history at the clubs outside those 6 clubs is being disposed of permanently.

The fans outside the UK are the majority and they want this.

FA's, Uefa and FIFA have been quite strong on this - they will have their memberships relinquished and the players will not be eligible for internationals.

Unless these 15 clubs are willing to set up a new "brand of football" - basically NOT FIFA endorsed - they will be in their own leagues with their own system and their own rules. Think FIFA, Uefa and the local FA's won't be worried by 2-6 teams from their respective leagues disappearing - no one gives a **** when it's the lower leagues and teams are ultimately easily replaceable.

14 sets of fans (probably all 20 really) won't care in the slightest if the top 6 disappear and will carry on following their teams with potentially more chance of getting into Europe and then the clubs below will be wishing them gone to get to the promised land of English football on a technicality.

Think there are 3 teams in the Championship who haven't played EPL football before and 7 (8 if you include the new Wimbledon) in League 1 who have played at this level already as well so not like it's unchartered territory for nearly 1/3 of the clubs outside the top flight at present.

Germany and France not going for it is huge as there will still be "major" money in the Uefa comps. Could be a good thing for the take over if City, Man U and Chelsea go that's a lot of money out of FIFA's football.

I would love it if they were booted out, but I don't think that's going to happen.

I can't see it tbh - FIFA have to much to lose, in terms of money and power here, if they let this slide then there will be another and another and another until FIFA is just a back seated observer with no control...

Let's call it what it is - a Coup - a coup to benefit the rich with no consideration for anyone but themselves - 15 clubs in a private members group only - generously offering 5 spots alongside them up for other teams to come play with them for a season here and there.

The only thing I can think is if they can offer themselves more money than they get through FIFA then it's worth it from their point of view but JP Morgan and the other backers won't be to pleased if none of their sponsored teams can have any of their players playing at the biggest sporting event behind the Olympics - the World Cup and that's where FIFA's control lies.

I hope they kick them out even if they try to change their minds quite frankly, but my feeling is that they know they won't be kicked out

It begs the question - assuming this has been planned for some while, is this the real reason the "big 6" wanted our takeover canned.

Would the Saudi money have potentially seen one of the proposed 6 (Spurs?) amended due to our new mega rich status ....
