In his infinite wisdom, Daniel Levy has seen fit to sack The Special One just days before the EFL Cup Final, but more importantly, hours before Wednesday’s match against in-form Southampton. With Kane probably not fit, and Mourinho a distant memory, does this give Saints a glimmer of a possibility of a faint trace of hope? Discuss,
I don't know if it's good or bad that Jose has been sacked, in terms of our chances. I'm hoping their players down tools...which will give us a glimmer of hope. No, in all seriousness, in true Saints fan style, I'm backing us to pick up points. Hopefully they'll all be confused, plus thinking about Sunday.
I would not be surprised if we won this game and then we'll all be moaning why we didn't turn up at Wembley.
Wednesday 21st April 2021 6 pm KO TOTTENHAM V SOUTHAMPTON Referee: David Coote. Assistants: Adam Nunn, Nick Hopton. Fourth official: Darren England. VAR: Jonathan Moss. Assistant VAR: Marc Perry.
Season pretty much ended for us last night so don't really care. Would be nice to end the season well but not that bothered
Perhaps Big Sam will jump ship from WBA before he ruins his record of never getting sacked, then Spurs will have the “Big Sam bounce” on Wednesday, so they’ll beat us ......
Well this game has become much more interesting in the past 24 hours. Spurs being a franchise super team apparently and so in theory now don't even have top 4 or 6 to fight for because the only thing that now matters in the PL is fighting for 1st and staying in the league. And now Mourinho gone too to add a further dimension of what the **** is going on!? I have absolutely no idea how any of this will affect them or us with very little time to digest any of what is going on from the franchise super spurs camp and the disappointment of our abject loss from the only thing exciting about our end of season.
I'm sure Ralph will not overlook the real possibility of getting into the players heads about the damage and further grief they can do to Spurs. One would have thought any linkage of one of ours going there now has gone until the mess these so called clubs has been sorted out. Therefore a Saints win more likely than not!
I understand Spurs sacking Jose. I cannot understand Spurs sacking Jose days before a cup final. Perhaps he was against the Super League plans? No idea whether it makes much difference to Wednesday's game. Kane being injured probably will, though.
Of course it gives us hope that's what destroys us. The sodding hangover has subsided, ****ing tourettes still bastard well here.
I don’t think money is an issue. He’s been reducing the wage bill ever since he arrived to make room for a rebuild. I am confident the current wage bill and a couple of key sales this summer will be enough for him to get the signings he needs.
Given our new solid defensive, non attacking shape i think we will get another creditable 1-0 defeat.
1 eye on the cup final they will not be up for this and go all Spursey early whilst we will really be up for having a shot on target. 0-1
The funniest possible outcome is that Spurs' trophy drought is broken by their U23 assistant coach or something while serving as a caretaker, so I fully support this decision. As does every person in the land who runs pub trivia nights.
