The Club can today announce that Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra have been relieved of their duties. Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: "Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a Club. Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic. On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged. He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution." Ryan Mason will take First Team training today and a further update will follow in due course.
Given the announcement times and the Ryan Mason taking training today bit, I definitely think that this was unplanned. All seems rather rushed, though that may be due to the story getting "leaked" to the media.
Levy being in the stands at Goodison on Friday night implied the wheels were definitely in motion at that point
Well, well, well. The times they are a changing. Who's next I wonder? Bielsa? Rodgers? Nagelsmann? Parker? Santo?
When he gets past a certain point, he's cancerous. Levy leaving him in post after we lost to Brighton was dereliction of his responsibilities to the club.
Giving him a 3.5 year contract was the worst. Tbh I'm just annoyed that this wonderful news has been eclipsed by the ESL ****show.
This news should be no surprise to anybody, and nobody will be surprised if Levy fails to hire the right successor.
