PL need to show some backbone and say they'll be kicked out of the PL if they continue with this farce.

They probably won't be allowed to stay in the PL or Champions League. They will be pariahs.

Most of the breakaway clubs are English which will present a massive imbalance. I find it quite intriguing which teams will not be present. There seems to be no teams from either Holland, Portugal or Germany named so far. In addition, the absence of clubs like Paris SG, Celtic and Galatasary will raise eyebrows. I understand no French clubs will be involved in this league. If this comes into fruition, I can see PSG being raided by other clubs and losing all their best players.

It is entirely a self-interested enterprise which will only act to the detriment of football as a whole. I am not sure it will actually appeal to the fans and I will be intrigued to see how winners of domestic cup competitions will be treated. It does feel that something like this will be inevitable and I think that if is starts gaining momentum, other European clubs will break ranks and want to join in fear of losing out. I will be interested to see how particular nations will cope if their best sides are not considered for this league as they are not prestigious enough. You would think that this will be particularly damaging for a country like Holland.

Also how ****ing arrogant are Arsenal and Spurs? They've been ****, haven't won the CL or European Cup for donkeys years if at all and they still expect to be in this Super League. ****s. I would be cheered up immensely if we could give Spurs a twatting on Wednesday night.

Yeah, they're taking direct aim at UEFA here. It's hard to make UEFA look like the good guys, but just about no one likes this idea, which is going to give UEFA the chance to make a purely self-interested effort to protect its own power look like it's in the defense of football.

    Here's a novel idea.....

Kick the ****ers out of the PL.

Rename the PL to the First Division, The Championship to the Second Division, League 1 to the Third Division, League 2 to the Fourth Division.

Six teams from each division get moved up based on their league standings at the end of this season. Have a fairer distribution of money throughout the four divisions.

Fans would be over the moon and the so called glamour clubs can bugger off and play with each other in endless boring matches that everyone will eventually tire of and they will all go bust.

Happy days, and I would love to see it happen. In fact I would pay to see it happen. Arrogant twats.

They could even go on a world tour - it would be akin to the Harlem Globetrotters!

Not arrogance is it, it’s just money
All references to ‘football’ or ‘sport’ should be removed from any comments related to this idea

This is just a US franchise system in Europe whilst stealing the brands that have been built on local communities

I can always rely on Mrs AS to cheer me up with unintended comedy gold when I`m in the depths of despair over Saints.
Mrs AS - what`s this super league then ?
Me - it`s a shower of greedy `big` club bully boys who want to form their own cartel.
Mrs AS - are Saints in it then ?
Me (rolling eyes upwards) - no, we are Saints - we would have nothing to do with anything like that.
    Mrs AS - are Portsmouth?.......

I really hope (not holding my breath though) that some players from these clubs come out and say they will refuse to play in the ESL and will demand to leave if the club continues to pursue this.

The Chelsea and Arsenal supporters trusts have both released statements saying, essentially, "get to ****".

Replace champions league with the ‘champions, some champions that won in the 1980s, a couple of runners up and a the joke team that will guarantee a few points for everyone else league’. I for one am thrilled.

I'd like to think that some players, if they are otherwise denied international honours, might have the integrity to leave their 'big six' club, which might make some elite players available to us lesser lights.

I know, probably a pipe dream, but it would be nice to believe there might be some integrity.

Lol. Good one Tom. They will probably ask for a transfer to Fulham and an 80% wage cut.

All the clubs’ supporters clubs have said words to this effect.

Fair play to Utd fans. They’ve been banging this drum for years with the whole yellow and green scarf thing.
