Levy probably doesn’t even acknowledge what he’s done to the loyal fanbase.

If we’re not already expelled, the Prem season now means jack ****. Because unless you’re winning it, any other position doesn’t matter for a side like us who’s in the ESL. Can’t enjoy top six or top four finishes now because there’s no achievement for it.

    Seriously **** this football club.

Get Levy out now. Preferably kick him down every flight of stairs on the way too.

The more you think it through it’s an awful idea. Even if it happens, UEFA and FIFA have said they’ll ban participating players from their competitions. Presumably this means any international football too. Not to mention the FA etc would have a say in that and they’re not going to be happy about this. Do we think Kane will give up on England? Sonny is an icon in Korea, will he forgo ever going to a World Cup for his country again to stay at Spurs? Tbh if they’ve got buy-in from the leading players on these terms then I think less of them anyway. If they’re in on this then they’re ****ing sellouts and they can do one with the rest of them.

This has disabused a lot of feelings I had about the club, that I held dear despite the shower we’ve been on the pitch recently. I’m equal parts sad and furious.

The only hope that the sport in general has is that the massive fanbase of the "Big Six" migrates towards lower league sides and spreads the wealth, but in reality that just isn't going to happen for me. We are seeing record figures of money travel down the league system, giving a vital lifeline to the struggling clubs. That's going, it's going to destroy so many local sides.

Honestly, I think any Spud on here who doesn't give a **** will swiftly change their mind after playing AC Milan in Qatar for the 5th Wednesday in a "season"

What alternative would Kane have but to join someone like Lesta?

So top 4 or even top 6 is pointless chasing then?

    Season over after Sunday

There's been some chat that the teams who have agreed could be removed from the comps, Champions League and Prem.

All players could lose international status too

What would Bill Nic say about this.

I’m so disappointed in Spurs for this.

Proves all along that the ‘profit over glory’ brigade were right.

What would Bill Shankly say <laugh>

Not only are Liverpool joining this, the "red men" are one of the biggest proponents and have been actively convincing people.

A 'Super League' made up of permanent members, half of whom aren't in the least bit 'Super'.
Us? Gooners? Are you having a laugh?

    **** the lot of them!

My old mate has supported the Gills all his life - think I would be inclined to join him if still living in London. No CL, No EL, but a real football fans experience, without having your wallet rinsed.

This is all speculation at the moment. Nobody knows exactly what will happen. This can only happen if broadcasting companies by the rights. If they don't then this can't happen. If they do then there won't be as much money left from the broadcasters for existing competitions. Simples. This leads to subsequent discussions, for example UEFA say these clubs will be banned from existing competition, but if these clubs aren't in those competitions then what will the broadcasters be prepared to pay for those leagues? So as usual, we wait to hear where the money goes. And clubs saying that they're moving to a different league doesn't necessarily mean that the money will move - although it probably does. Yet if Sky etc don't back it, then it can't happen.

I can see why Levy would jump in on this unfortunately, if you can't beat them, join them.

I don't think this will happen, but if it does it'd be interesting what Sky would do as far as broadcasting it after the condemnation of it all. They'd be all over it for the money. Hypocrites.

They are attempting to run it like the NFL is run.

There's nothing good about the way the club's been run for some time. I'd already committed to not giving them a penny piece of my money until Levy goes. Now, it's ENIC.

    Until they go, I won't.

I hope the resistant from football continues but I have to say I am not confident that it will. The formation of the PL was always about money and enriching the top clubs. It's been a financial success thanks to Sky primarily and that attracts the oligarchs and shrieks and billonaire Americans. It's not surprising that they want even more money from it. The sport has suffered in many ways mostly by enforcing an elite and enriching further the rich. It is now standard to cheat but it's not about the morals of the game it's only about money.
I have long felt slightly uncomfortable at supporting one of the rich elite but I know that I did not start the support of Spurs because of that it was for football and location reasons. This would be a step too far and I would find another football club, with the emphasis on club, to support.
The fans around the world have no connection with the heritage of the clubs whose shirts they wear and no doubt will continue to follow 'their' team. The PL took the clubs away from the fans here but the fans bought it because of the chance to see top world players. I am not so sure they won't also be sucked in by this.

I agree with this, but the difference this time is that teams will be rewarded for poor results. However poor we (or Arsenal, or any of the others) are we still qualify. That is the step too far for me. The PL sought to enrich and benefit the top clubs but they can still be relegated.

In theory they can be relegated but the power of money has protected the 'top six' throughout the PL era.

There are already very strong rumours that Amazon are waiting pen in hand to sign a deal for broadcasting rights.

If they do, there is zilch the likes of Sky and BT can do about it. Bezos and his behemoth dwarf any and all competition.

It has, but there is still something truly joyful at seeing the likes of Birmingham defeat Arsenal in a cup final, or Wigan doing the same to City. Us going out to Colchester was obviously a disgrace for us but magic for the neutral fan.

Even if the league wraps up its landed gentry in protective layers, the domestic cups are where some of football's old charm still lies. No one is safe, no one qualifies automatically and everyone loves a giant killing. That'll all be taken away now. The closest you'll get is us being beaten by Zenit st. Petersburg on a Wednesday night in Dubai but we'll still be allowed back in the following year.

De Pfeffel criticising clubs for splitting away thinking they can do so much better on their own is peak irony

That's true but the cup competitions have already ben devalued as it's now the norm for one of the elite to win them.
