Hilarious. Hope it happens, then if their fans continue to attend games then I can give up on football once and for all and concentrate on more meaningful things
Madness. Still, it gives the rest of us a chance. They should start at the bottom of the pyramid if they want back in.
If there is a ban on players playing for England and therefore would miss out on a World Cup, I'd interested if any players would look to move to a club who is not involved in this ESL. If it does go ahead, then Bayern Munich will dominate European football for years to come.
Ban the lot of them, kick them out the PL and the CL. Let's see how they like playing an a 8 game tournament that no-one is interested in. Get football back to the fans and let's normalise things again -let these 8 clubs and their superstar prima-donnas strut around with their arrogance whilst the rest of us watch proper football with real people
Points deductions and massive fines to start with. I’m pleased to hear their own supporters are opposed to it as well, if it all fall through the original members could be damaged for years. Greedy back stabbing bastards.
I hate the premier league as it is dreading the thought of ever returning there but I would be a lot happier if those greedy bastards weren’t in it so teams were playing on a level footing.
Thanks lads, a LOL moment to help kick start Monday at work.........same for the breakaway league, REALLY? The BBC have also mentioned that you can now buy ‘genuine’ freshly bottled Yorkshire and Lancashire air at £14 a go (other counties also available) ah, that’ll be the smell of utter horse sh*t then.....are we in a time warp, is it April the 1st?
They now say that its not going to be a closed league. 25% of members to qualify. No detail of that yet. KICK THEM OUT
Any club that joins this new euro league should not play in the premier league as well and any club who leaves cannot expect just to pop back into the premier league when this new money league falls apart. They should join at the bottom and work their way up through the lower leagues. However, I can’t see this euro league happening anyway.
Never mind the super league what about the premier league I have never took a lot of notice of it since we were relegated but there doesn’t appear to be anything exciting about it on the news anymore seems to be same old all the time now are the fans just brainwashed to thinking it’s great when was the last time anything special happened, kicking these six clubs out would make it more even and nobody would be just fodder for them anymore and teams might play with less fear.
The Premier league need to show some balls here. And then the Football league need to back it. Kick them out and don’t allow them in the football pyramid at all. No relegation to the Championship. It wouldn’t work anyway as they wouldn’t be allowed to be promoted. They can’t “compete” in contradictory leagues. Let them have their Super League. Most of the European clubs are still in the Champions league. 6/15 founding members are English anyway
Nobody wants to watch 12 teams on a loop. Bring Rangers, Celtic etc into our league, they are bigger than some of those clubs anyway, potentially. It’s funded by an investment bank, who’s gonna fund it after JP Morgan rinse their cash out of it? I can’t see Sky wanting it, why would they? It sounds ****e. Bloke on Sky has just nailed it, ‘super league of what? City and Arsenal have never been European champions’. There’s be a magnificent amount of sensational clubs still in UEFA comps, when I got into football you’d see Steau Bucharest or St Etienne competing. If they wanna go **** them, other teams will grow. Clubs like us and the neighbours, Everton, West Ham, Leeds and Leicester, as I mentioned maybe Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen... Euro comps with Bayern, Lyon, Porto, Benfica, Ajax from Spain you’d still have Sevilla, Valencia, from Italy Napoli and Roma and Lazio. I know which side I’d want to watch.
I'd like to see the Isthmian League, the Southern League and the Northern League come out and say they won't be admitting them to their competitions when this inevitably fails. Don't want them messing those beautiful leagues up with their attitudes.
I'm all for reforms of European football but I'd rather go back to the days of Skonto Riga or Malmo turning up at the 'big' clubs. And giving them a game. What football wants, what football needs, is more competition. Not less.
