I hope a lot of people go to their windows and yell out of them ‘I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this any more!’

While I’m not wildly upset because the clubs involved are already in another galaxy from the game I love, it’s a shame if this goes ahead, one step further away from where this game started, as an escape for working people on a Saturday, and sometimes a Wednesday.

Any German clubs involved? The way the game is organised there could make this a hugely contentious issue.

This bollocks is aimed at customers rather than supporters, lining pockets of people already too rich to know what to do with their money. **** em, let’s hope it backfires big time. If not, the rest of us can get on with following proper football rather than showbiz.

Just seen Bayern, Dortmund and surprisingly PSG have come out against this. Good for them, and instantly the ‘super league’ involving Spurs and Arsenal, isn’t so super after all. Bit upset that AC Milan are going for it, but not surprised.

German clubs are part owed by fans.
IF and this is a big IF. Would you rather play in the Superleague or your country? Radio 5 have also said Citeh have not signed up to this..

Would you walk away from £200k a week from your club for the honour of representing your country?

I wouldn’t blame the players whatever choice they made. Neville, Keane, Richards etc, all retired and now pundits, have been denouncing this on telly, but who knows what they would have done if their employer had chosen to take part, especially if they were at the beginning of their careers?

nah, this is down to owners with no roots in the community and history of their clubs, TV companies, venture capitalists and other assorted scumbags.

German clubs not signed up for it as they are 51% owned by fans so the money only has a minority share holding.....

It’s been on the cards for years. Champions league/prem were the starting foundations. Foreign owners don’t give a s***e about the fans. They just care about money. It’s all about greed.
It’s all becoming very NFL now so expect 4 quarters. I can even see many great clubs going part time.
If the clubs want to leave their roots for some space jam league then go... but don’t come back and don’t let them play in any cups. Saying that what does the FA cup mean to them with City making 8 changes for a semi final at Wembley?
by the way Spurs haven’t won the league for about 60 years and are not always in the Champions league?

I'm surprised Bojo hasn't already pulled all the British clubs out of Europe already as part of Brexit. That's a joke BTW.

In all seriousness, the absolute cheek of these clubs to do this. If it happens, every football fan everywhere should boycott the competition and make sure that not one penny of your money is spent in paying to watch streams or in bars who show this hoping to be full for every match. Utter greed is all it is. Shame on the lot of them for disrespecting other clubs in their domestic leagues.

    Yes I would.
If a player is selected to play for their country, they're almost certainly already at a stage where they're earning astronomical wages.

This is a completely selfish proposal by these clubs.
There'd be no promotion or relegation.
No chance of a Leicester season.
I personally don't think it will happen.

It reminds me a bit of Kerry Packer's Cricket Super League.

Well, if we're mixing football and politics, where do I post this? <laugh>

Glad the world and his wife are coming out against this.

Is it much different from Sky charging bars fortunes to show their live matches?

I spoke to the Guvenor of a pub in London (lord rest his soul) a couple of years ago and he told me he took Sky games out of his pub as they were looking for 54 grand per year. That begs the question, how much would the TV company charge for this European Super league?

And when it fails, l hope the PL and the FA have the gumption to send them straight to 2nd division, to start allover again, just like Rangers had to in the SL.

Exactly...and they'll find out how many fans they really have across the world by seeing who is willing to pay to watch them vs Huddersfield Town on a Tuesday night.

Embarrassing is a word being thrown about by most. Bet Levy couldn’t believe his luck being invited to the top table. No way this is going to happen and hopefully a few heads will roll.

Looks like this is a negotiating ploy for these stinking clubs to extract more cash from UEFA in their pointlessly revamped and expanded Champions League.

Be fun if their bluff was called and these clubs were universally shunned.

Not for me. Football is fast leaving me behind and I'd be delighted if the Yanks, Russians and Arabs took their money with them and ****ed off with whichever mercenaries were willing to play for them.

When I played Sunday mornings and we won the Cup, it wasn't diminished by the fact that there were bigger teams playing in other leagues somewhere else.
