Good for you. You're probably just thinking about the pub....

This Royal funeral was so simple, yet so perfect...

Absolutely. Would much rather spend a Saturday afternoon at a boozer than watching a funeral of a bloke I don't care about.

Yeah I'm sure it's sad for those close to him but I'm not sure why others are meant to care so much about a 99 year old man dying. But then I'm anti monarchy in general so probably not much of a surprise.

Each to their own though.

I never saw it tbh Comm.

But he planned it, and so if it was as impressive as you say then he had some class about him I guess.
It was emotional mate...

The choir was a bit over bearing, and maybe to many hymns, in a short time.

But the whole thing from start to finish was timed to perfection...

The Queen sat alone.
The Bugles
The Bagpiper.

Do you have the same reaction when you see people gathering to cry and mourn pop/rock/film stars who die (from drug/alcohol abuse quite often)or some random that got killed in another country?

My old man died aged 49 ... married the old girl when he was 20 ... a long time for a couple to be together and running an off licence for nigh on 16 years meant they spent just about every hour together during that time ...

Liz has had that for near on 70 years .. the void left by his passing must be huge, unimaginable, heart breaking ... my heart goes out to her ... forget that she is a public figure ... she has lost her soul mate and closest friend. <rose>

Pretty much yeah.

Of course it depends on circumstance too; I'd feel far more empathy for a young person taken before their time for example.
