I saw Johnson was trying to justify it earlier. You can not tell me that King doesn’t offer more than the likes of O’Brien, Diamond etc. He’s a proven match winner and we can’t afford to keep them out the side in our current predicament. Needs to be on the bench the weekend.
I do not think Maguire does offer more than Diamond or O'Brien. He has no pace and cant stretch a game like Diamond can. I would bet Diamond can play morr minutes at tempo per game than Maguire too. He cant hustle like O'Brien, he can't the runs O'Brien does that pulls players out of position. Again he would struggle to have an impact on a game for the length of time O'Brien does. He is a flash here and there type of player but I am not sure he can be trusted in a team that values the high press and the transition as much as we do. Diamond has to be trusted here at this club. He has come out of our system and has shown more than enough to suggest he is on the up. He was our best player last Tuesday by a mile (it wasnt difficult) but if we drop him for Maguire I'd pretty gutted.
The majority view on both RTG, Twitter etc is they want Maguire back in the side. Surely they all can’t be wrong?? He is a player who can have an impact on games and we don’t have enough of them. Promotion needs to be priority and I feel he can contribute more to that than a few of the others in the side.
All about opinions mate and I respect those who want him, just not for me. I could see the sub option, but not at the expense of the two players you mention. Just giving my opinion. I might well be wrong, I often am... I dont do twitter or any of the other things you mention, hard enough to keep up with the good people on here and that does for me.

i don't know mate, but i have read what LJ said about him, my view about him is plain he has had some very good games for the team with good goals but he is not consistent, and for me definitely not a king, will i be chuffed if he gets the match winner of course i will, all i see is Wolfy was right about Sanderson and he said Maguire should be brought back he has been

sorry mate those were not my words, Wolfy said first name on the team sheet, i don't agree with that, but he did say also he should be in the team, i was undecided about that until i read what LJ wrote.
i was of the same opinion as you were about him Sandy, when he first put the thread up hence why i didn't respond to it, and my feelings about him as a player are written down there on that thread and are plain to see, you are a good poster, and i personally don't want to fall out with anyone on here lifes too short and we are all Sunderland supporters dying for a win and promotion
well he is in the team Nathan so that means LJ thinks he is good enough anyway here's hoping for a good win looks like we are all desperate for one
If I was the manager, if he looked ok in training I'd have him on the bench. He does have the odd flash of brilliance but he's far far too inconsistent for a side with promotion ambitions. I'd be surprised to see him start tomorrow. And yes I reckon back on track tomorrow, win by 2 or more goals.
