That would be way too simple for us .

They did health care workers first followed by nursing home residents. Then by age, over 85's down to over 70's. They are currently doing people with serious illnesses like cancer from 18-65. Next will be cohort 5 which is people like me with less serious underlying illnesses 18-65. Then they are going by age 70 downwards.

In the meantime, the Police and teachers are threatening to strike if they are not prioritised. Everybody thinks they should be priority. They are still saying 80% of adults will be done by end of June. We shall see. The next few weeks will be critical.

Just booked late lunch for the family at an Italian restaurant with a terrace for next Saturday (weather looks good, not interested in sitting hunched over a drink and pasta shivering).

Man I’m looking forward to eating out, first time since last summer.

Blimey I just heard that Johnson and Johnson will 'Proactively delay the roll out of their vaccine in Europe'
    That will go down well.

It's amazing how much The Experts at SAGE and PHE tell us which turns out to be complete and utter rubbish, isn't it? When are we going to start trusting the *data* instead?

This ridiculous over reaction to the vanishingly rare side effects of certain vaccines is totally inept.

The latest data from Johnson and Johnson has blood clots, all in relatively younger women. Almost certainly more a link to the contraceptive pill.

Had a wander around town today, first time since the shops reopened. All pretty civilised, shame that quite a few restaurants and bars can’t yet open up, but most of the shops seem to still be in action. Shoppers behaving well, not very crowded.

Only places with queues outside - McDonalds, which as far as I know has been open all the time anyway, and H&M. The charity shops were busy as well. Many shops were deserted, including big ones like M&S clothes and Superdry, which does not bode well...

I had an emergency visits to Hotel Chocolat and the wine shop, which happily survive.

Chlorinated swimming pool water can inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19 in just 30 seconds, a study found as indoor pools re-open across England this week.

Virologists from Imperial College London studied the impact of varying concentrations of chlorine in water on the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The findings suggest that the risk of COVID-19 transmission via swimming pool water is 'incredibly' low, the researchers reported.

The investigation was commissioned by Swim England and the Water Babies swim school, with support from the Royal Life Saving Society.

'We performed these experiments at our high containment laboratories in London,' explained study author Wendy Barclay, of the Imperial College London.

'Under these safe conditions we are able to measure the ability of the virus to infect cells, which is the first step in its transmission.

'By mixing the virus with swimming pool water that was delivered to us by the Water Babies team, we could show that the virus does not survive in swimming pool water — it was no longer infectious.

So Oxford say that mixing vaccines will provide a ‘wider immune response’ mmm not happy about this and expected this news as our vaccine program seems to have slowed down. Targets must be met!

82% of rapid tests are correct....hurrah...hang on wait a minute

In every 100 tests 18 are wrong.

In every 100,000 (number done each day) then 18,000 are wrong

    We are proud of that.

And sorry for misleading you for saying it was 1:10.

Cannot think we are proud of that fact

An 18 percent failure rate doesn't sound that great
